Just as Sevilla looked to have wrapped up a win in normal time, thanks to goals from Vazquez and Konoplyanka's second half penalty, up popped Sergio Ramos to score a 93rd minute equaliser, after Asensio had given Madrid the lead in the first half. Dani Carvajal produced one of the goals of the season to win the game in the 119th minute, to give Real Madrid their first piece of silverware of the 2016/17 season.
