Lin Shih-Chia won her encounter the Egyptian international Reem Mansour 6-0 and now will face the winner of Bombayla Devi's encounter against the Austrian international Laurence Baldauff in the round of 32!
If Bombayla Devi wins this encounter, she will either face Lin Shih-Chia of Chinese Taipei (who finished 9th with a total score of 651 in the Ranking Round) or Reem Mansour of Egypt (56th with a total score of 596). Lin Shih-Chia will be a tough opponent as she has a world ranking of 10.
Bombayla finished the ranking event at a respectable 24th place with a score of 638 (including 23 X+10s) and therefore was pitted against the Austrian international Laurence Baldauff who finished at 41st place with a score of 619 (including 16 X+10s)!

Arrow: The maximum diameter allowed for an arrow is 9.33mm. However, the arrows used by the International Archers are of around 5.55mm. The reason being, arrows with lesser diameter can travel faster and are easier to aim.
Target: The target has an overall diameter of 122cm (48.8 inches) and consists of 10 concentric circles (12.2 cm each). The center ring, or bulls-eye is also 12.2 cm in diameter. The target is situated 70m from the shooting spot, and is positioned 1.3m above the ground.
Bombayla Devi is the second of the three women Indian archers to take part in the individual archery event. Earlier, Laxmirani Majhi lost her round of 64 encounter against the Slovakian international Alexandra Longova on DAY 3! The third Indian archer Deepika Kumari is scheduled to take part in her round of 64 match against the Georgian international Kristine Esebua at 01:06 IST, early 11th morning!
