Thank you for joining Sportskeeda for the live coverage of this event and we will be back with more coverage.

07:25 (IST)19 AUG 2016

But wait, he is not done yet, Bolt still has one more race to go and we will witness him in action one more time in the Men's 4 x 100m relay.

07:24 (IST)19 AUG 2016

This is the beauty of sport, it unites people of different races, nationalities and religions. What a great night this is in Olympic history.

07:22 (IST)19 AUG 2016

And there he does his signature gesture!!! Bolt is king and probably the most loved sportsman in the world at the moment.

07:20 (IST)19 AUG 2016

He always does it, doesnt he? You doubt him before a competition and he just destroys all doubt. Does he not?

07:17 (IST)19 AUG 2016

You have to love him. He is all class and has swag like no other sportsman in history. Usain Bolt take a bow!!! What a champion

07:14 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Muhammad Ali, Roger Federer, Michael Phelps, Larissa Latyninia, Serena Williams, Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan, have any of these done thing in the style Usain Bolt has ? I doubt.

07:13 (IST)19 AUG 2016

What a race here by Andre de Grasse, he is the future of sprinting, undoubtedly. The kid is 21 and he is here to stay.

07:12 (IST)19 AUG 2016

1. Usain Bolt (Jamaica) - 19.78 GOLD
2. Andre de Grasse (Canada) - 20.02 SILVER

07:10 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Was there any doubt? No. He came, he ran and he conquered. We have witnessed history here.

07:10 (IST)19 AUG 2016

07:08 (IST)19 AUG 2016

07:07 (IST)19 AUG 2016

07:07 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Some of the others are just here to make up numbers.

07:06 (IST)19 AUG 2016

LOOK AT HIM, he is DANCING. He is the King, the indisputable king.

07:05 (IST)19 AUG 2016

He owns the World Record, Olympic Record and is the defending champion. Bolt is the man. Can he do it in his last Olympic individual race? We are about to find out.

07:03 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Irrespective of what happens tonight, Andre de Grasse is one man for the future and could well be the next Olympic champions. For now, it is BOLT TIME. We are almost ready to go.

07:02 (IST)19 AUG 2016

The athletes come out to a huge roar and no prizes for guessing whom is the loudest cheer for. He looks so calm, relaxed and confident. As if he owns the place. Well, he does. He is walking alongside Lashawn Merritt to his mark.

06:59 (IST)19 AUG 2016

The only two men who can pip Bolt to the gold medal in this race are Andre de Grasse and Lashawm Merritt. But do they have it in them to outdo the man who rises every time you doubt him.

06:57 (IST)19 AUG 2016

We are just five minutes away from the start of the race now. For our Indian viewers who have just woken up, we have both good news and bad news. While the good news is that PV Sindhu will be playing for Gold tonight, the bad news is that Narsingh Yadav has been banned for four years and will not be participating in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

06:55 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Here is the line-up for the event:

Lane 1 - Ramil Guliyev (Turkey)
Lane 2 - Adam Gemili (Great Britain)
Lane 3 - Alonso Edward (Panama)
Lane 4 - Andre de Grasse (Canada)
Lane 5 - Lashawn Merritt (USA)
Lane 6 - Usain Bolt (Jamaica)
Lane 7 - Christophe Lemaitre (France)
Lane 8 - Churandy Martina (Netherlands)

06:52 (IST)19 AUG 2016

We are around 10 minutes, maybe nine, away from lighting, sorry Usain Bolt striking thrice.

06:51 (IST)19 AUG 2016

In the penultimate event of the evening, Dalilah Muhammad has won the 400m Hurdles event. Phenomenal racing from the American.

06:48 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Not a lot of people know that Usain Bolt prefers 200m over 100m due to distance and if you look closely, it is understandable because he usually puts on the after burners during the second half of the race.

06:41 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Many would say that it is an unfair debate given how different the two disciplines are but the question does arise, which of these is more difficult? The debate can continue but what we should really do is marvel at what these two have achieved.

06:39 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Should Usain Bolt win today in the 200m final and then go on to win the 4x100m relay, both of which are quite possible, will he be regarded as the greatest Olympian of all time? Above Michael Phelps ?

06:35 (IST)19 AUG 2016

It is rather hard for anyone to not focus on Usain Bolt in this event and why should they not? The man has single-handedly carried the responsibility of being a symbol of purity in an age that is filled with stories of doping, drugs and cheating.

06:26 (IST)19 AUG 2016

Hello friends and welcome to Sportskeeda’s live coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics and today we have for you the Men’s 200m finals, which will see Usain Bolt participate in his last individual race at world’s biggest sporting spectacle.

We are about half an hour away from the start of this event, which is going to last for just under half a minute but its magnitude and stature makes it worth every minute one spends waiting and talking about it. Just to give you a detailed insight into the event and how things have shaped up during the build-up, Usain Bolt, as usual, jogged during qualification and this time even managed to share a laugh with Canadian racer Andre de Grasse, who has risen in stature during the 2016 Rio Olympics.

With Justin Gatlin and Yohan Blake failing to qualify for the 200m final, Bolt’s win should seem like a foregone conclusion but the presence of Andre de Grasse, who finished just behind the Jamaican in the semi-final, should make things interesting. Two other men who will be looking for a medal in this event are LaShawn Merrit of USA and Alonso Edward of Panama. Both these men raced exceptionally well in the semi-final and would want to finish on the podium. The main story, however, remains and should be around Usain Bolt, the man who is on his way to become the first to achieve a “triple-triple” of 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay.
