Unfortunate, but Fazliddin Gaibnazarov seemed to be the more potent puncher and a more compact fighter today. It wasn't a boxing masterclass by any stretch of imagination, but not every match is a purist's delight, is it?
The Uzbekistani is content to move away and coast through this round as Manoj wrings his hands beckoning to him to fight. Nope. Nothing doing as the round comes to a close, and along with it, Manoj Kumar's Rio journey as well.

There is a lot of clinching in this first round, it's hard to score as both men seem to be more intent on landing big shots, rather than accurate ones. Round 1 comes to an end!

Bachkov should take this. He looks to be a front foot fighter with a nice repertoire of punches, power and a chin on him
