Indian fans can take a lot of heart from this performance from the shooters. We have come terribly close to winning medals but have lacked the clinical ability.
India's 2016 Rio Olympics shooting bid is over here and we will be returning home with no medals. This has to be a huge disappointment. Probably the biggest in recent times.
Chain Singh position at the moment - 23rd
This is really heart-wrenching stuff.
Chain Singh finishes his last round with 95/100 and a total score of 1169/1200
Chain finished on 1169 while the 8th placed shooter scored 1174. 5 points, that is all.
This has been another disappointing day of shooting. It is the same story again, not being able to perform in the final round.
Gagan Narang has finished with a score of 1162 and sits on 33rd position.
IT IS OFFICIALLY OVER!!! Chain Singh is out and India will finish with no medals in shooting at Rio 2016
Chain Singh slips down further and moves to 22nd position. This has been a shocking fall after such a strong position. Chain Singh must be gutted.
He has four shots remaining and Chain cannot qualify even if he hits 4 10s, at least that is what it looks like.

NOOOOOOOO!!!! Chain Singh shoots an 8 and slips down to 21 position. I hate to be a prophet of doom but Chain is almost as good as out.
He is on 1123 with five shots remaining. His score can maximum be 1173. Would that be enough for Chain Singh,? Do not think so
Chain Singh shoots a 9 and is 39/40 from the final round of Standing. He needs six 10s. Still would depend on others.
The sixth placed shooter has scored 1174/1200. Looks unlikely now.
Andre Link of Germany now sits in 8th spot! 1174 at the moment and he is ahead of Italy's Campriani.
Two 10s to begin the last round and 20/20 for Chain Singh here. He is in 14th position.
The top six shooters have finished their rounds so far. Fedor in 6th place has a score of 1176.
He is on 1074/100 and a 100 would take him to 1174. Still looks tough. Chain Singh needs a 100 and nothing else.
1057 so far for Lochbihler. The Swiss shooter is in 8th place and has sore 78 out of 80 in his third round from the standing position.
Campriani now falls to 9th! The final position is held by Lochbihler of Switzerland
He finishes his third round on 96/100 and is now in 16th position. The qualification looks highly unlikely for the Indian barring a 100 in the last round.
Shoots a 10 to take his score to 87/90 from the third round. He needs to get 10s and nothing else. Chain Singh is India's last hope of getting a medal in shooting.
Campriani of Italy moves back into 8th
A 9 from GORSA in his second last shot and he falls to 10th!
BETTER from Chain and another 10 takes him to 58/60 for the round. BUT NOOOOOOOO!!! He shoots poorly and now is 77/80 in the third. 15th position for Chain Singh.
Petar Gorsa is in 8th place and has a score of 1156 so far.
The top three have finished taking their shots. Kamenskiy, Brodmeier and Bryhn are going into the finals.
Gets a 10 to make it a little better. Still in 13th spot though. This is the business end and he needs to bring in his A game or shall I say the Prone Game.
Not good from Chain Singh as he scores 19/20 in the next two and it slips him down to 15th position.
And just like that De Nicolo falls to 4th due to a 9!
There are 17 shots left and he should get at least 13 10s and rest 9s to have a chance of making it to the finals.
De Nicolo of Italy is doing well in this set. 96-94 out of 200. Pretty good, the Italian sits in second place at the moment.
Chain misses the bulls eye and gets only a 9 in the next shot. He is on to the 12th position now.
BOOM!!!! Another 10 from Chain Singh and he goes up to 11th position. This is getting nervy friends. Hold on to your horses.

Chain is taking his time here with the last shot of the second round and he gets a 10!!! Good stuff. He is in 12th position now.

Alexis Raynaud of France also finishes on 1176. He is in 6th!
Remember folks, if Chain himself does not shoot that well, others' shot affect his ranking too. He is up to 13th now.
Qinan Zhu also finishes his round. 1176 for the Chinese shooter and he is 6th just below Bryhn of Norway and Fedor of Russia.
Chain needs a 10 in the last shot to remain in the fray for a finals spot. Can he do it?
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! A series of poor shots and CHain is on 84/90. It pushes him down to 15th position. COME ON Chain.
Poor from Chain to follow that up with a 9 and he moves to 66/70 in the second series of Standing round. 9th position. Chain needs to step up.
Daniel Brodmeier finishes his round of shooting and it will be a tough wait for him. 1177 for the German and he now sits in 5th.
10 in the next shot and Chain is immediately into 8th position. You see the effect of a 10?? Chain needs more of these here.
So if he shoots slightly better, the qualification spot will be his.
