Can our shooters or athletes handle the pressure? They do seem to be cracking under the pressure in almost every sport at the Olympics.
Another day, another disappointing performance by the Indian shooters. We have shown glimpses of quality but that level of consistency is missing from our shooters.
Only the top six would qualify for the finals. The job is tough for Mairaj, all we can do is hope for the best.
Tomorrow there will be 50 more shots for each shooter. The top scoring shooters out of 125 will be making it into the next round. Mairaj is on 72 and the maximum he can score is 122.
The shocking fact is that Mairaj looked good for a 74 and he ended up missing two shots in the final set! That is not good!
Qualification does seem to be tough at the moment for Mairaj. In 2012, 120 was enough to qualify for the next round. Mairaj will have to score at least 49 tomorrow and hope many others miss.
Mairaj is not out at the moment but yet again, an Indian shooter will have to be perfect in the second day of qualifying. What a way to end his round!
From a third place to now fighting it out for a top 10 spot! One shot has made all the difference for Mairaj! He finishes 10th but there are other shooters at the moment still taking their shots!
This was not expected, Mairaj gets his composure back and is on 22 now! 71 for the round in total!
He falls down to 11th! 70 for him at the moment! This is not good!

This might not be a medal round but if Mairaj continues with this form, no, we shouldn't jinx it. Just keep shooting like this!

Mairaj may not be able to catch Svensson today but if he closes out with a 25, it should give him a lot of confidence for the second round of qualifying tomorrow.
The hot shooting continues, Mairaj moves onto 63!

Nilsson, who is above Mairaj, hasn't missed in this round either and is looking to close out on a 25. That would take his score to 74!
Mairaj is in the groove but we also saw the other side of shooting with Manavjit capitulating under pressure. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for Mairaj.
And now he moves on to 58! He has not missed in this set. 9 out of 9!
Another one hits the mark! 56 for Mairaj, this round is going pretty well for the shooter.
The 40-year-old stays in 6th at the moment but a perfect 25 in this set should move him into the top 3.
Correction, he has now moved on to 55! 19 more shots to go for the Indian.
Mairaj has only taken 3 shots. 22 more to go.
Nilsson races to 66 and could be looking to score a 74 in total as well.
3 for 3 from the Indian and he maintains his 6th place. 52 at the moment for him!
Mairaj gets underway!
We are seeing some tremendous shooting here by Nilsson as well. While Svensson has a perfect 75, his fellow Swede has missed just once and has a score of 64.
And again, the top six would make it into the final but that will take place after the second qualifying round, tomorrow.
Nilsson is still shooting but the wait for Mairaj to take the stage is getting a little too much now.
This wait reminds me of that old fizzy-drink ad. "Mera number kab aayega" (When will my number come?), Mairaj must be thinking that.
Patience is the key, no wonder the Rio officials are making us wait to see if Mairaj can finish on a high!

75! A PERFECT 75 FOR SVENNSON! Now the Swede can move aside as Mairaj should step up!
Svensson still has not taken his final shots! About time we get to see Mairaj!
He probably will get onto the range post Svensson's round is complete.

Just two more shots for Svensson to make it a 75! He surely will do it, there has been no stopping him today.
Anthony Terras who looked good in the first round, has finished with a 72 and is in 9th place.
Stefan Nilsson starts his third set also and moves above Mairaj.
Marcus Svensson is also on his last seven shots. He seems set for a perfect 75 today, a pretty good day for the Swede.
Most of the other shooters are about to complete their final round of the day, Mairaj should be in action in a while.
