The top 3 in each quarterfinal will move to the A/B semifinals - which is two semifinals with 6 rowers in each. 
The bottom 3 in each quarterfinal will move to the C/D semifinals - same with 6 rowers each. 
Only the ones who qualify for the A/B semifinals will stand a chance to qualify for the A finals - which is where you can win a medal. 
If you don't reach the A/B semifinals, you DO NOT stand a chance to win a medal.
