IT IS OVER and HEENA SIDHU has NOT qualified for the finals. Not the kind of start India were looking for on Day 2.
Heena Sidhu scores by round - 94, 95, 96, 95
She has finished her rounds and scored 380. She is currently in 15th position and barring a huge slip up by her competitors, it all looks to be over for her.
86/90 now for Heena as she fires a 10. One shot in the final round but she looks set to exit the 2016 Rio Olympics. This is not good news for Indian fans.
76/80 in the last round and Heena has climbed up a little bit to gain the 17th spot. Still not enough though.
47/50 in the final round and five shots remain for Heena Sidhu, can she blaze her way into the finals? We are inching closer to the finish here in Rio.
Heena is into her last round and ended the third with a 10. She has shot one 10 and two 9s in the final round. Nothing short of 8 10s will help her qualify. She needs to get all of them right. 23rd position at the moment.

Heena Sidhu is still shooting in patches and is in the 19th position. She has to put on the after burners now or it ll be too late. 20th position
And right as i say that, her compatriot Ekaterina has taken the lead and is now the top in qualifying. 331 till now. The Russians are on fire today.
Vitalina Batsarashkina is back in first place ladies and gentleman. She is on 321 and shooting in her fourth round. The third ended in a rather disappointing 95 but she has shot 3 10s to begin the final round. GREAT SHOOTING from the Russian
BOOM!! 2 10s in the next two shots, Heena has shot well in patches today and consistency seems to have deserted her, hence the 21st position.
A 9 to start the third round for Heena and she still seems to be in third gear. The Indian is way behind the 8-ball and needs to buckle up soon.
Meanwhile, Spaniard Sonia Franquet has gone ahead to leapfrog Batsarashkina in the top spot. 97, 98 and 10 in the first shot of the third round. This is getting interesting.
Heena finishes her second round on a score of 95, which is not exactly what she would have hoped for. She currently stands in the 28th position, Can she do a Jitu Rai to make it to the final? Stay right here
As if Vitalina Batsarashkina was not enough, another Russian, Ekaterina Korshunova has climbed into a finals spot. Mengxue Zhang from China is in fifth place now while Heena is still lagging behind in 26th.
10!!! She fires a Bulls Eye in the next shot and gets it right this time. Heena needs to keep going.
57 from six shots in Round two and Heena has slipped down to 27th place here.
Heena has 48 now from her five shots in round two and with five to go, she needs at least 4 10s in those to remain in the fray somehow. Otherwise it will be a huge mountain to climb for her. She is in 21st position
In the meanwhile, Vitalina Batsarashkina has finished her second round with another 98 and has a total score of 196. This is superb shooting from the Russian. She surely has dinner plans and there is gold involved in that maybe!!!
Much better from Heena as she starts the second round with two 10s and she needs to keep going here.
She finishes her first round with a score of 94 and that is not up to the mark from the Indian, The 8th ranked shooter in the qualifying at the moment has scored 97 to give you a little perspective.

Still early days though, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
Vitalina Batsarashkina seems to have booked a reservation at some restaurant as she is really hurrying through and has completed more than half of the second round. She is on fire and has shot 5 10s and one 9 in the second round. 157 in total and the Russian is in first place.
Heena has slipped into 25th position and has not managed to get more 10s, she has 66 from 7 shots and three to go in the first round. Next three need to be 10s for the Indian.
And just as we said that, Vitalina Batsarashkina from Russia takes first place with a score of 118. 98 in the first round. Brilliant.
This is turning out to be quite a contest as there is a lot of disparity among participants and the top ranks are changing at unbelievable speeds. Australian Lalita in the first position with 5 10s and a 9.
BANG!! Another 10 from Heena and she is in 14th place now. 48 from five shots now. She has hit three consecutive 10s.
Olfa Charni from Tunisia with a score of 60 is leading the charts and Heena, in the meanwhile, has hit a 10 to take her score to 38. If she can hit a few more 10s, a top eight position beckons.
Some shooters seem to be in a hurry, like Alejandra Zavala from Mexico, who has finished her first round with a score of 97.
Another 9 by Heena Sidhu and she has a total of 28 at the moment. Quite a mixed start from the Indian.
Nino Salukvadze is in the lead with 40 points on the board and that is phenomenal shooting from the Georgian.
9 in the second shot for Heena and she is currently in 21st position. Irrelevant and too early.
Wenjum Guo (China), a big medal contender, has also started off with a 10 but Olena Kostevych seems to be off her game and has 18 from two shots.
