53 South Africans were picked to represent their sides, with 27 internationals accompanying them through this journey. A whopping 125.8 million rand was spent in the seven and a half hours of the auction. Well, then. That brings us to the end of what has been an engaging and enthralling auction. A first time in this SA T20 League, and it was certainly worth the wait. That's all the six franchises can do at the auction table, bringing the pieces together and forming a side that can potentially lift the title next year. No surprise to see that MI Cape Town are the favorites if the teams on paper are anything to go by, but in the game of cricket, nothing is a given. Of course, we will have a breakdown of all the sides coming your way in the days to come.

League Commissioner Graeme Smith is in conversation with Pommie Mbangwa. He reckons that Temba Bavuma going unsold is disappointing but there's no clue how things pan out in a player auction. He adds that you never know what might happen close to the start of the tournament with injuries likely to open the door for him. He hopes that it triggers the right type of drive in him to get those runs.

The six franchises have their player cards, stacking up their sides for the competition that will be played in January. We'll take a look at how the squads have shaped up in a little bit. The big boys in MI Cape Town and Joburg Super Kings might be the best-looking squads, on paper. Of course, that's not the be-all and end-all of it all. The auction is only one part of the process. Now, these sides will have to work with each other to produce the goods on the field.

Eathan Bosch is snapped up by the Pretoria Capitals. R 175 K, he is moving to the captial!

A 5-minute break in proceedings now. We could have just one final round with Paarl Royals, Durban's Super Giants and Joburg Super Kings' rosters packed! Last-minute bargain picks for the rest then?

Here's the big man! Rahkeem Cornwall comes in at R 425 K. He can be a handful with bat and ball, but sadly, the West Indian isn't going to play a part in the SA 20 League. Another short break, by the looks of it. There will be another round of an express auction shortly.

Loads of bargain picks as you'd expect at the business end of the auction! Sad to see no bids for one of my favorite players, Rahkeem 'Jimbo' Cornwall!

Codi Yusuf, the South African all-rounder is next. Royals make the only bid at R 175 K. Congrats, Codi! You're moving to Paarl!

Next up, it's Diego Rosier at a base price of R 175 K. No bidders. None at all. Unsold! Essex's Sam Cook is up next at R 425 K. He remains unsold as well. Next up, Pieter Malan at R 175 K joins the other two and remains unsold as well. As is Farhaan Behardien at the same base price.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape make the opening and closing bid for Aya Gqamane and snap him up for R 175 K.

England's Paul Walter is next at R 425 K. He can certainly whack a cricket ball, but he's deemed not good enough by the bidders. Unsold. Thomas Kaber also goes down the same road at a base price of R 175 K.

So MI Cape Town have their Rashid Khan backup with fellow Afghan Waqar Salamkheil added to their ranks! And they add two more local players at the same price. They're on a bargain spree now!

Any takes for Wesley Marshall at R 175 K. Yes, guess who? It's MI Cape Town and they've bagged another player at R 175 K. Stalking up for the bench decently, by the looks of it.

Afghanistan's Waqar Salamkheil is next. MI Cape Town make the opening and closing bid at R 175 K. Easy as you'd like! Ziyaad Abrahams is the next name in this round at a base price of R 175 K. MI Cape Town are the bidders again. Double swoop for the franchise!

South African wicketkeeper Grant Roelofsen is the next name on the list. No bidding for him, sadly. He goes unsold. Siyabonga Mahima is the new name in this auction. Obviously, someone added his name to the list, but no one's bothered to bid. Unsold!

And with the procurement of Caleb Seleka, the Joburg Super Kings have made all their picks for the day!

Next up, it's Caleb Seleka. Joburg Super Kings make the opening made at R 175 K to snap him up without a fuss!

Daryn Dupavillon is in next. He's playing in the CPL currently. Swiftly moves to a million from a base price of R 175 K. MI Cape Town with the permanent paddle but Pretoria Capitals get the better of them eventually, at R 1.50 million. MI take a bit of time before raising the paddle again but are forced into another discussion as the Capitals push to R 1.70 million. Dupavillon will move to the capital!

Sanity prevails with the Wiaan Mulder bid. A player of his package simply had to fetch more traction. And he duly gets a good deal, joining the plethora of all-rounders in the Super Giants' ranks.

Wiaan Mulder is back in the hunt. A base price of R 175 K has rapidly moved to R 1.30 million with Capitals and Super Giants fighting it out. Capitals push the price up before backing out at R 1.90 million. Mulder is a Super Giant! Him and Mayers with some dibbly dobbly seam should be fun!

England's Craig Overton is next at R 850 K. The bowling all-rounder has no suitors. None for Roston Chase either. No T20 action in SA for these gents.

South Africa's Test opener, Sarel Erwee is next. We have an opening bid at R 175 K by the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. That is the closing bid as well. Sold!

No takers for Andile Phehlukwayo, surprisingly, but Brydon Carse is a shrewd pick by the Sunrisers. Excellent, hit-the-deck bowler who can also tonk the ball. And how about playing party poopers eh? The Super Giants doused the Super Kings' hopes of wrapping up their roster with Simon Harmer, only to outbid them with the Joburg franchise left with insufficient funds.

Time for a spinner, Simon Harmer. Super Giants make a bid at R 200 K. That's good enough for them to bag his services. Not bad, eh?

Brydon Carse is the next man in at R 425 K. Sunrisers Eastern Cape make the opening and closing bid to snap him up!

David Bedingham gets no bidders at his base price. Moving onto the next one, Andile Phehlukwayo, who sadly goes down the same route. Odd.

Kusal Mendis is sold to the Pretoria Capitals for R 435 K.

Well well! Eoin Morgan still has life left in his cricketing career and he will head to the Paarl Royals. They've already appointed David Miller as skipper, making this a rather interesting pick.

Eoin Morgan is in next at a base price of R 850 K. Royals and Sunrisers are the first two bidders, with the Royals holding the lead at one million. You can't put a price on the leadership qualities he brings to the table, but these two franchises will give it a go anyway. Royals hold the bid at R 1.8 million. Sunrisers come in for one last bid before opting out. Eoin Morgan is not going to be Paarl Royals captain but he's in the side at R 2 million.

Still no takers for South Africa's limited-overs captain. This is one of the big talking points from this auction!

South African T20I captain Temba Bavuma is back in the mix but he remains unsold at R 850 K. That's a real shame.

Odean Smith is the next man in. Base price is R 1.70 million, and MI Cape Town raise their paddle to showcase their interest. Well, if they didn't have enough big-hitters, here's another one. He is sold to MI Cape Town!

Good morning in Kiwi-land, Jimmy Neesham! Surely you're going to tweet about this and have a word with the owners of your IPL franchise who haven't been able to procure your services here? Can't wait to see how this Twitter banter unfolds!

Jimmy Neesham comes in at a base price of R 1.70 million. Capitals and Royals are at it again. Neesham plays with the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, so it's no surprise to see their franchise in the hunt for the Kiwi. Capitals lead the bid right now with R 3 million... both sides are slow to raise the paddle but it's been a consistent bidding process so far, moving up to R 3.5 million with the Royals. Capitals come right back with 3.6 million. That's the final bid. Neesham moves to Pretoria Capitals!
