The lone Indian male shuttler in the fray, Sai Praneeth will be looking to lift yet another trophy at the Thailand Open Grand Prix Gold 2017 as he faces off against Pannawit Thongnuam of Thailand in the semifinal.

The 24-year-old is only the second male player to win a Super Series title after Srikant Kidambi and has made it to the semifinals of the Thailand Open with relative ease, winning all four matches so far in straight sets.

Thongnuam will be looking to use the home support to create another upset after he defeated the top seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in the previous round, recording a 21-17 17-21 21-8 victory.
