Russel Domingo, the current coach of Cricket South Africa will have his contracts ended by the end of the England series. Domingo will have to reapply if he desires to continue as the head coach of the team after the England series held in May-August 2017.
CSA confirmed that they will look for a new head coach for the team after the series and through to the 2019 world cup.
“The Board of Directors also resolved to commence the recruitment process for the appointment of the Proteas Head Coach to take charge after the tour to the UK until after the 2019 edition of the ICC World Cup", said CSA at the end of the release about a review into domestic cricket.
Domingo was handed the contract in May 2013 and has his contract extended twice. After a string of below-par performances, Domingo’s position lost its security.
In a press conference, Domingo spoke about how he would lead South Africa as the coach, but he refused to speak beyond his contract.
