DDCA asks BCCI for 2 crore for hosting the Ind-NZ ODI

Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) has written to Rahul Johri, BCCI’s Chief Executive Officer, asking for a payment of INR 2 crore for hosting the second One-Day International between India and New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Johri will be the in-charge of all the operations in the BCCI after the Supreme Court removed President Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Shirke as per the recommendations of Justice Lodha. However, the decision to release the funds requested by the DDCA can be taken by Johri only after approval from the apex court-appointed two-member panel, who will pick the committee of administrators that will run BCCI going ahead, on January 19, Anil Diwan and Gopal Subramanium.

DDCA treasurer, Ravinder Manchanda has confirmed the news and said the fund was asked to pay several bills. "We have intimated Justice Mudgal about current scenario and requested him to write to CEO Johri so that he releases our funds on an ad-hoc basis. We need to pay electricity bills, TDS, hotel bills and we only have INR 15 lakh left in the current account of DDCA. The staff is yet to be paid their salary for the month of December," he added.
