After much speculation, the England Cricket Board(ECB) have revamped the central contract policy in order to provide more focus to limited overs cricket in England. Under the new system, 10 Test contracts and 11 white ball contracts have been announced. Players will also receive a ranking based on their on-field performance, off-field contribution and fitness, which will play a key role in their appraisal.

Anderson and Wood ruled out of Bangladesh Tour, Finn and Ball recalled
England's pace-bowling attack suffered a double blow after James Anderson and Mark Wood were ruled out of the Bangladesh tour citing recurrence of injuries. Anderson has been suffering with issues in his right shoulder, while Woods has been troubled by his left-knee injury.
Middlesex's fast-bowler Steven Finn has been drafted into the ODI squad, while Nottinghamshire's Jake Ball, who is already in the ODI squad, has been added to the Test squad. Further replacement to the Test squad will be decided on a later date.
The 34-year old Anderson, who is England's highest wicket taker with 463 scalps, will now face the battle to achieve complete fitness before the 5-Test series against India, starting from November.

Losing Williamson would be a huge blow for New Zealand considering their frailty against spin in the first Test
16:33 (IST)29 SEP 2016
The miseries for the New Zealand squad don't seem to end as they now find skipper, and probably the best batsman in the squad, Kane Williamson down with a bug a day before the Kolkata Test. Williamson has been laying low and rested in the team hotel while his teammates took the field to practice at Eden Gardens.
But Williamson is still likely to play the Test, as indicated by Tom Latham at the press conference.Latham told the press, "Kane is a little bit crook today so he won't be training."
"There is no discomfort, he is just down with a bug. Nothing too major, he is just resting up and getting right for tomorrow," the opening batsman said.
The Kolkata Test begins tomorrow and losing Williamson would be a huge blow for the visitors, considering New Zealand's frailty against spin in the first Test.
Henry Nicholls is likely to open in case Williamson sits out.

An attack on a cafe in Dhaka in July that killed 18 foreigners threw a powerful spotlight on the dangers posed by Islamist extremists who have also slain dozens of activists and members of Bangladesh's religious minorities. After their own security expert carried out an assessment in Bangladesh, England's cricket board decided to go ahead with a month-long tour that begins with three ODIs followed by two Test matches.
