Mobile recharge shop owner hits 320 in 50-over game

Bilal Irshad, a 26 year old who works in a mobile recharge shop for a living, scored a jaw dropping 320 from 175 balls in a 50 over  game for Shaheed Alam Bux Cricket Club against Al Rehman CC in Pakistani club cricket. Irshad hit 42 fours and 9 sixes in his gripping innings. The knock, in the  Fazal Mehmood Inter-club cricket championship, is the highest limited overs score in Pakistan cricket history.

Won't take anything for granted, says Moeen Ali

English all rounder Moeen Ali was quick to dismiss any complacency in the squad, adding that they are familiar with the quality in their squad, but will not take anything for granted. Ali who was man of the match in the first ODI, a 72 run win vs South Africa, said, "We're only 1-0 up with two games to go, but it's a great start to the summer. "We were 2-0 up against them in South Africa (in 2015/16) and we lost 3-2. They're a very good side, and we know that." Ali also said that he believes England can win the Champions Trophy.

Zampa believes it will be difficult for him to enter Australia's playing XI

Crafty Australian wrist spinner, Adam Zampa has conceded that it will be difficult for him to break into the Australian playing 11 for the Champions Trophy, due to the presence of the big 4 fast bowlers(Starc, Hazlewood, Cummins, Pattinson) as well as part-time spinners like Travis Head. However in a more optimistic tone, speaking ahead of Australia's warm up game vs Sri Lanka, the 25 year old added, "I think the general feeling is that the wickets here will slow up in the back end of the tournament. I'm preparing for that, but I'm prepared to play every game."

Jacques Rudolph retires from first-class cricket

South African domestic legend, Jaques Rudolph announced that he would be retiring at the end of the current domestic season, a technically sound batsman known for his cover drive, the left hander scored 2622 runs in 48 tests for South Africa, scoring a total of 10,285 runs in List-A competition. He enjoyed domestic careers with Titans, Surrey, Jamaica Tallawahs, Eagles and Yorkshire.

Najam Sethi to replace Shahryar Khan as new PCB Chairman

Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board's Executive Committee, Najam Sethi, is set to replace Shaharyar Khan as the new PCB Chairman, the as stated by the Board's media release on May 25. The decision, part of three resolutions passed during PCB's AGM in Lahore, also had plans to stage eight games in Pakistan for the PSL, with four in Karachi and the other four in Lahore.
