CPL 2017: Dan Christian replaces an injured Brendon McCullum
Trinbago Knight Riders have roped in Australian all-rounder Daniel Christian for the rest of the CPL 2017 season as a replacement for Brendon McCullum, who was ruled out of the tournament with an injured arm.
"Losing an iconic figure like Brendon to injury is clearly a massive loss to the team, but in Daniel we have a proven match-winner who has just led a side to a T20 title in England. We hope that he can make it two trophies in two weeks with us in Trinidad," Simon Katich, Trinbago's head coach said.
The Knight Riders have already qualified for this season's playoffs and will take on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Qualifier 1 late this week. The franchise also approached former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi to replace the Kiwi, but Afridi rejected the invitation to play in the CPL due to personal commitments.
