Renshaw hoping to make the most of his advantage
Matt Renshaw may only be 20 but his physique and the fact that he has scored a century and fifty in his first four Tests has already drawn parallels with legendary Australian opener Matthew Hayden. Ahead of the Test series against India, the 20-year-old is hoping to make the most of his height and employ the sweep effectively.
The 20-year-old admitted that he has had a few conversations with Hayden and revealed the advice that he got from him was to embrace the challenge in "one of the hardest places to play".
"I’m 20 years old and I’m going to one of the hardest places to play in the world, so I’m trying to embrace it and enjoy the challenge," Renshaw said.
"The sweep will be a big one for me and trying to stay slow and use my reach as a tall bloke. I’ve got that advantage over some of the other guys. I can probably get to the balls which are going to turn a bit better than the short guys without moving my feet too much. So I’ll try and use that to my advantage as much as possible."
