WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Fuji dies aged 82

WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Fuji, real name Harry Fujiwara, passed away on Sunday morning, he was 82 years of age. Fuji’s career spanned over 3 decades, which included stints as an in-ring competitor followed by one as a great manager in the WWE. Fuji was a decorated wrestler, having won the WWE World Tag Team Championship on five occasions. He also feuded with legendary WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino on several occasions.

Following his retirement, he became a heel manager and Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Kamala, The Berzerker, George “The Animal” Steele, Crush, Jim Neidhart Killer Khan, “Magnificent” Don Muraco and The Powers of Pain – The Warlord and The Barbarian – were all managed by him. His relationship with Muraco especially standing out as the duo treated the fans to the Fuji Vice – a spoof of “Miami Vice”, along with Fuji Bandito, Fuji Chan and Fuji General series.

Mr. Fuji was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on 31st March 2007, by none other than his former partner Don Muraco.

Fuji was infamous for throwing salt into the eyes of his opponents, especially those who were face and was also fondly called ‘The Devious One’. He is regarded by many as one of the most entertaining performers in the history of the company.


Cody Rhodes makes a splash in the indie wrestling scene with his victory against Kurt Angle:
Cody Rhodes left WWE this year to start his indie wrestling career and things have been looking up for him. In a recent interview with Ring Rust Radio, he had spoken about his match with Kurt Angle and Jushin Thunder Liger in the Northeast Wrestling federation.

Rhodes has gone on to defeat Kurt Angle at Northeast Wrestling’s highly-anticipated “Wrestling Under The Stars”. Even thought it was the first matchup we saw between these two great athletes, there was a feeling of familiarity and respect between the two wrestlers.

Another WWE studios film is in the making starring Mark henry:
WWE Superstar Mark Henry is set to feature in WWE Studios’ upcoming movie ‘Incarnate’ – which is a supernatural horror movie and is scheduled for release on 2nd December . 

The film features Aaron Eckhart, David Mazouz, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Carice van Houten and Karolina Wydra and will be directed by Brad Peyton, of San Andreas fame. The plot of the movie revolves around an unconventional exorcist and an 11-year-old boy who has been possessed by a demon from his past. The exorcist has the ability to tap into the subconscious of the possessed.

Lesnar vs Shane at Wrestlemania?
People have varied opinions on SummerSlam’s main event which saw Brock Lesnar grab a TKO victory over Randy Orton. While Brock was pummeling Orton after busting him open, the referees, as well as SmackDown general manager Shane McMahon had to try to separate them. Following this, Lesnar performed an F5 on Shane which started rumors that Shane-o-Mac would face Lesnar at Royal Rumble. Now, however, the rumor mill has churned out the possibility of a Lesnar vs Shane match as far away as WrestleMania 33 as well as the idea that Brock will face someone else at Royal Rumble, possible Randy Orton.
