Hello and welcome to Sportskeeda's live coverage of the Japan Open Superseries as we enter the second round of the main draw, with all events down to their last 16 players. Our first match of the day sees Srikanth Kidambi take on Hu Yun from Hong Kong, in what promises to be a tight contest.

Yun may be ranked 28 in the world but he will be an extremely difficult opponent to overcome, considering his Round 1 match. He defeated the Korea Open winner from last week Anthony Ginting in a tight three-setter 21-16 10-21 21-13 and will fancy his chances against the Indian, who too will be coming off the back of a grinding battle.

The Indonesia and Australia Open champion overcame a stiff challenge from China's Tian Houwei 21-15 12-21 21-11, who enjoyed a 6-1 head-to-head record against Srikanth prior to the match.

Stay tuned to this space as we bring you the latest updates from the match!
