92' Jones tries a pass that is way too ambitious for him - and the ball runs out behind Grant's goal. Stoke's supporters are in full voice as their team looks like they will hang on.

91' Well and truly into Fergie time, Rashford plays in a BEAUTIFUL ball that sees no one attack it at the far post. As unlucky as they have been with the referee's whistle, they have been lethargic in their movement.

89' Rooney looks like he is a notch or two BELOW everyone around him as he gives the ball away with another loose touch. Incredibly saddening to see a man of that quality trudge along with such mediocrity.

88' Rashford shows the impetuousness of youth as he fouls Glen Johnson nears Stoke's goal. Story of the day for Mourinho's men... so far.

87' OH MY! WHAT A SHOT! Lingard hammers it at goal from twenty yards out, but the ball clatters off the cross bar! What a shot that was!

86' Nothing is going United's way here as Rooney misplaces a simple enough return ball to Valencia.

84' Valencia extricates himself out of trouble with a backheel of superb calmness before Herrera releases Pogba. The Frenchman gallops in and has a pop at goal, but its a horrible effort.

83' The corner is cleared, but Stoke are hanging on to the ball with some neat little passing of their own.

82' Rashford is United's most exciting player by a country mile. The man pings it in, and Arnatouvic misses it - from the corner... it looks Shawcross handled that!! But Clattenburg dismisses more vociferous appeals from United. At the other end Jones does SUPERBLY to head the ball away from a lurking Peter Crouch - if Stoke nab a second, this game is well and truly over!

81' Zlatan tries to play in Rooney but the Englishman is on his heels, and Martins Indi clears with relative ease.

80' Aye Aye Aye Wayne Rooney. Manchester United plays some very pretty football to release Valencia down the wing and he finds with Lingard with a great cross in. The winger nudges it down to Rooney - but the great man could hardly have got a worse connection on that.

79' Pogba finds Zlatan with a brilliant ball into the far post, and the Swede tries to head it down to Rooney, but Martins Indi scraps it clear. From the corner Blind's shot is blocked, before Herrera's smack at goal is well held by Grant.

78' Stoke are getting a touch too physical for my taste here - you can be rest assured Mourinho will have a word or two to say about that.

77' Lingard tries to find Rooney this time, but Pieters holds strong and bundles Rooney off the ball. Paul Pogba has a pop - with tremendous venom - but it's well wide.

76' UFF! UFF! UFF! Rooney skips past Pieters 2008 style before pinging it into Zlatan. The Swede tries to kung fu it in, but misses completely. The ball falls to Rashford, but the youngsters attempted finding of the top corner only finds the row of seats just above the Stoke goal.

75' The ball is still United's though and Wayne Rooney almost finds Lingard with a searching through ball. The Substitutions have had their effect and United look so much more lively now.

74' Rashford is such an injection of adrenaline isn't he. He turns Johnson inside and out before feeding Pogba - and the world's most expensive footballer wins a corner kick... Rooney takes it, but nothing comes off it.

72' Substitution as the ineffectual Mkhitaryan makes way for the live-blog-friendly Jesse Lingard. Meanwhile Shaqiri is taken of for Belgian youngster Ngoy.

71' Valencia swings it in, as he always does, but Martins Indi gets in front of the onrushing Pogba - meanwhile Arnautovic sits on the ball and for a reason that only Clattenburg can reason out - he waves play on.

68' Shaqiri sticks it in, and Crouch almost wins the header!! United look a little rickety at the back - and it takes an acrobatic Jones clearance to keep Shaqiri from finding Arnautovic.

67' United look utterly static, and Valencia's ball to Mkhitaryan cannot be kept in by the Armenian. Lingard is warming up - United need some off-the-ball running here.

66' Shaqiri has A CHANCE!! But Smalling holds firm to keep the Swiss-Albanian at bay. United continue to pile on the pressure, this time with their captain urging them on

65' Herrera slips in Mkhitaryan but the Armenian's shot is meek. Wayne Rooney meanwhile comes on for Mata - who has had a horrible game. The Englishman is on some sort of milestone, I can't quite recollect what.

63' Rashford and Zlatan play a one two and Shawcross takes OUT Rashford with a rugby tackle of a challenge. The ref just waves play on. INCREDIBLY POOR OFFICIATING from Clattenburg.

62' Pieters gets a yellow for diving - and Adam gets taken off for Afellay. Shawcross does brilliantly to power away from the attentions of Zlatan and pick up Shaqiri...but Stoke lose possession as Herrera puts in an excellent tackle. United move forward...

61' Rashford ghosts past Johnson like the right back is Not there, but his pull back is easily cleared by Adam - who then picks a fight with Pogba.

60' Pogba slips the ball between Johnson's legs and Pieters deflects it away from Mata's path. BUT HE CLEARLY USED HIS RIGHT HAND THERE!! The United players are apocalyptic with rage.

59' Mkhitaryan does his thing and powers into the box before laying it back to Valencia who curls it in - Johnson heads it away as Rashford lurks behind him. The corner comes to nothing, but United have the ball...

58' Pogba plays in Zlatan with a nice little ball, but.... the big Swede's caught offside.. just.

57' United create all sorts of bother in the Stoke box with a Blind set-piece, but the Potters somehow clear it. Rashford has now slipped on the let hand side and Mkhitaryan has moved inside.

56' Substitution for Mourinho as Fellaini is taken off for Rashford - who's plan B now?

55' Shawcross lets the ball out of Stoke's possession with a terrible ball that he passes out of play, but Pogba returns the favour and Adam passes it forward. Allen and Shaqiri exchange passes in the box, but Jones just about bundles it clear - Stoke were appealing for a penalty, but that was more out of hope than conviction.

54' Fellaini and Adam are bickering at each other - about something or the other - polite customers both, so no need to worry.

53' Shaqiri does excellently to track back and win a goal kick off Blind. The Stoke players are working ever so hard, here.

52' Peter Crouch tries to recreate his City magic and attempts to catch De Gea off guard from distance, but the radar is just off.

51' The swede picks out Herrera with a clever pass - as he ran in shaping for the shot - and the Spaniard dinked it in to Fellaini whose header across the box is almost met by an acrobatic Mata effort. Almost being the operative word.

50' It's floated in by Blind, but headed away well by Martins Indi! The ball is not cleared well, though, and United win a freekick in prime Bend it like Beckham territory, but it looks like it will be blasted in by Zlatan

49' Shaqiri twists and turns away from the attentions of Mkhitaryan but his pass is straight at Herrera. The Armenian tries to motor through the Stoke midfield, but Whelan puts a stop to that. The ball is worked out to the right again, and they win a freekick as Arnautovic handles the ball - he has got to be careful.

48' Mkhitaryan picks up pace as he runs with the ball, in that inimitable style of his, and he lays it off to Zlatan - who is called offside. He is not... and Mourinho is not a happy customer.

47' Whelan and Adam have put in heroic performances as they face up against Fellaini, Pogba, and Herrera.

46' Pogba is being man marked by Whelan here - and a horrible first touch from Fellaini almost lets in Arnautovic, but Jones is in swiftly to whack it clear.

PEEP! We're off! United kick it off - in the opposite direction as they attempt to keep their unbeaten record intact.

I miss Ruud and players of that ilk - guys who did NOTHING but score goals. Pippo Inzaghi is another one that pops into my head - you guys have any particular nostalgic memories?
