East Bengal will take on Mumbai City FC in the 7th match in the Hero Indian Super Cup 2018. The side from Bengal will look to follow up on Shillong Lajong's victory the day before by becoming the second side from I-League to move on to the quarterfinals.

Bengal had a good I-League campaign, finishing 4th, behind arch-rivals Mohun Bagan, on goal difference.

The side from Bengal were the highest scorers from the competition, netting 32 goals while conceding 19. They finished with the same points and a goal less than Mohun Bagan. Dudu Omagbeni was the second highest scorer in the league, scoring 8 goals out of Bengal's 32.

Mumbai City FC, on the other hand, had a terrible campaign, finishing 7th and ultimately advancing after the qualifiers. Mumbai city defeated Indian Arrows to progress to the round-of-16.

Mumbai will have a tough task at hand as they face one of the oldest football clubs in India. However, this cup has already produced a few scalps and Bengal will have to be very careful.
