18:22 (IST)13 SEP 2016

Suyash Jadhav, like we said earlier, has been terribly unlucky, missing out by whiskers on two occasions. His story is one that represents the triumph of will over other challenges, problems and adversities.

18:19 (IST)13 SEP 2016

Mariyappan Thangavelu, Varun Singh Bhati and Deepa Malik have brought great glory to the country and showed that adversity, circumstances and pain are words that do not bother champions as they keep moving on.

18:14 (IST)13 SEP 2016

We are around 20 minutes away from the start of the event and I must say, it has been a superb Paralympics for India till now.

18:04 (IST)13 SEP 2016

Hello everyone and welcome to Sportskeeda’s live coverage of the Paralympic Games 2016 which are taking place in Rio De Janeiro. Today we will be taking you to the Olympic Aquatics Centre where India will again be represented by Suyash Narayan Jadhav who has not been able to qualify for the final round of any swimming event. Today will be Suyash’s last chance of winning a medal at Rio 2016 as it is his third and last event at the Paralympics.

The 22-year old has been finding it hard to see luck on his side as he has finished at the 9th spot in both his events so far. The Indian started his journey at the Games when he took part in the Men’s 50m Freestyle S7 event and had also featured in the Men’s 50m Butterfly S7 event yesterday where he failed to qualify inside the top-8 fastest swimmers. The swimmer will be taking part in the Men’s 200m Individual Medley – SM7 event, where he features in Heat 2 alongside five more athletes.

Qualifying for the finals could be an easy task for the Indian as he will only have to compete against 11 other swimmers in the Heats. The eight fastest swimmers from the Heats will advance to the Finals, which will take place later tonight.
