Bengaluru FC deservedly go through to the semis after keeping Tampines Rovers out for the whole game. Tampines were the better team in the first half, but they tired out in the latter stages. Bengaluru had the better chances in the game, and probably should've had a goal or two. Tampines went all out in an attempt to restore parity in the last ten minutes, but they couldn't do enough to break down Bengaluru's defence.

18:55 (IST)21 SEP 2016

FT: Huge win for Bengaluru FC. They become the third Indian team to the AFC Cup Semi Final.

18:53 (IST)21 SEP 2016

94' Bengaluru FC with a freekick, that shoul be it for Bengaluru FC.

18:51 (IST)21 SEP 2016

92' Benagaluruu FC with three great opportunities, One was saved by the gaolkeeper, the other hit the post and the last one was blocked.

18:48 (IST)21 SEP 2016

90' Five minutes of added time. Throwing the kitchen sink time.

18:47 (IST)21 SEP 2016

86' Huge chance for Pennant, But his first touch, though impeccable scuffs it.

18:44 (IST)21 SEP 2016

83' Bengaluru FC are defending with their lives now. Tampines lumping it now.

18:40 (IST)21 SEP 2016

81' A huge chance for BFC to seal things, but the final ball from Vineeth is terribe and easily cut out. Eugene would have been one on one with the goalkeeper.

18:38 (IST)21 SEP 2016

78' Pressure into the Bengauru FC box, Webb comes into his left foot and takes a shot, his shot is scuffed and barely reached Amrinder, who pushes off the ball despite being wrong footed.

18:36 (IST)21 SEP 2016

75' Wonderful buildup play from Benagluru FC, Sunil Chhteri with a one two with Eugene at the end of the box, but his sliding finish is straight at the hands of Izwan.

18:32 (IST)21 SEP 2016

72' Jordan is creating problems here, but his run is slightly too early, caught offside.

18:29 (IST)21 SEP 2016

70' Much better play from Tampines, this is going to be a long twenty minutes for the Bengaluru outfit.

18:26 (IST)21 SEP 2016

65' Shaqia down and injured there, he had to be stretchered off.

18:22 (IST)21 SEP 2016

63'  The Tampines players haven't been able to get past the midfield of Rubio and Watson, and when they do, they have panicked and rushed their passes. That was another example of that.

18:20 (IST)21 SEP 2016

59' Pennant with a chance to spark a counter, but his pass was just over-hit. Poor by the former Liverpool man.

18:16 (IST)21 SEP 2016

57' Bengaluru midfielders Watson and Rubio bossing the middle of the park now, the Stags are hardly getting a kick now.

18:14 (IST)21 SEP 2016

55' Decent free kick into the box, Amrinder though tips it over the bar.

18:12 (IST)21 SEP 2016

53' Bengaluru FC have had the better of the chances in the second half, but Tampines look good on the counter.

18:08 (IST)21 SEP 2016

47' Great play by Sunil Chhetri, he dribbles past one to unleash a left footed shot, palmed away by Izwan.

18:06 (IST)21 SEP 2016

45' Tampines start the second half on the front foot, Jordan Webb to Yasir who crosses into the box, no one to take advantage though.

17:52 (IST)21 SEP 2016

HT: Tampines started the better of the two sides, pressing the Bengaluru defenders and the goalkeeper so that they can't play out from the back. But, as the half wore on, and the men from Singapore started tiring, Bengaluru started playing better and are unlucky to go into the second half without a goal.

But as long as the scoreline stays like this, the Mighty Stags will get confident about their chances of pinching a goal, and things will drastically start look very different from now.

17:47 (IST)21 SEP 2016

46' Rino Anto with another wicked cross into the box, Vineeth though can't head the ball towards goal. Another huge chance for Benagluru FC.

17:46 (IST)21 SEP 2016

44' Bengaluru FC have had the better of the chances, in the last quarter of the half. Tampines Rovers have faded off the game.

17:44 (IST)21 SEP 2016

42' Another big chance, this time for Sunil Chhetri, Rino Anto puts a cracker of a floated cross, and Sunil gets a free header into the box. He skies it, and looks at the couds.

17:43 (IST)21 SEP 2016

40' Hafiz with what seemed like an elbow to Eugene, Sunil Chhetri having a word to the ref about the Mighty Stag's physical style of play.

17:41 (IST)21 SEP 2016

38' HUGE OPPORTUNITY for Bengaluru FC there, Watson floats the ball forward, Vineeth comes through the back to square it for Eugene coming into the back post, it just escapes his clutches, and the Indian midfielder seems to have hurt himself in the process.

17:38 (IST)21 SEP 2016

36' Jordan Webb has been booked for pulling down Nishu after the ball went out. Frustration from the man from the US.

17:36 (IST)21 SEP 2016

34' Izwan with an ice-cool Cruyff turn as Vinneth was closing him down.

17:35 (IST)21 SEP 2016

30' Amrinder booked for time wasting. Got to say that was coming.

17:33 (IST)21 SEP 2016

29' Pennant and Webb have looked very dangerous when on the ball, they are pulling the strings at the moment.

17:32 (IST)21 SEP 2016

26' Naughty from Pennant there, he had a small nibble at Amrinder, but to the India gaolkeeper's credit he got up soon.

17:28 (IST)21 SEP 2016

24' Tampines are slowly but surely getting the better of Bengaluru in the midfield, they haven't really allowed the Indians to get the ball down and pass, like they would like to. Amrinder hasn't had any major shots to save, but has been the more worked.

17:25 (IST)21 SEP 2016

22' Irwan with a ball into the middle, Hafiz will the shot which hits the side netting. He could have squared it for Billy there.

17:23 (IST)21 SEP 2016

17' Bengaluru have slightly shaded the first twenty minutes but Webb has looked bright when he has had space to run. Rino has to make sure that he's not afforded the space.

17:17 (IST)21 SEP 2016

15' Bengaluru FC making headway, the Blues stealing the ball in the middle of the park. The ball moved wide into Rino, who mishits his cross just a bit, and the ball unfortunately for the Blues, is over the head of Lyngdoh on the left.

17:15 (IST)21 SEP 2016

12' What a shot by Hafiz, he stung the hands of Amrinder, and the Indian U23 skipper for his part moved smartly to tuck it over the bar.

17:12 (IST)21 SEP 2016

10' This has been a frantic start to the game, none of the teams have had an upperhand.

17:09 (IST)21 SEP 2016

6' The game has been disjointed so far, with a host of corners for both sides. But, nothing of sorts has come out of any of them, both teams have defended their box well.

17:06 (IST)21 SEP 2016

4' Bengaluru FC with a corner, well defended by Tampines.

17:04 (IST)21 SEP 2016

2' The game has started at intense speed, Bengaluru try to go forward, but are countered, Webb runs into the right-hand channel, Antonio stops him in his tracks.

17:00 (IST)21 SEP 2016

1' Bengaluru FC kick off the game in white.

16:57 (IST)21 SEP 2016

Albert Roca has made no changes to the lineup that started the last game. #BackTheBlues

Tampines Rovers FC vs Bengaluru FC Preview

In the History of Indian football, there have been two teams who have reached the semi-final stage of AFC Cup, Dempo and East Bengal. Bengaluru FC or on the verge of making history, and they are just one step away. Albert Roca's first match was a grand success to put it mildly, his players not only made a transition from a relative gung-ho style of football to a more cultured, more possession based football.

For Nawas though, it was disappointing, and as he put in nonchalantly, his team weren't good enough, and they almost didn't turn up. But, thankfully for them, Bengaluru FC have just one goal to show for all their dominance is one goal. It will be important though for the Mighty Stags to get the dup of Webb and Pennant into the game. Billy too, has been much more mobile than he was in the first leg.

Basically, the good news for Tampines Rovers is there is a lot of improvement. For Albert though, he would be telling his boys "More of the same", or however you say that in Spanish.

Tampines Rovers FC vs Bengaluru FC Team News

Udanta Singh who was doubt for the last game, but he came on towards the end of the game and had a couple of good moments. So, he should ideally play from the start.  Keegan Pereira is still injured, and Nishu had started the last game, but was holed off at the half hour mark for Chhuantea.

Chhunatea should start as well. The position of Eugeneson was a matter of great debate, but his place seems to be safe at the moment. Musatfic, who went off injured in the first leg will miss the game.

Tampines Rovers FC vs Bengaluru FC Prediction

Bengaluru FC had a blinder of a game last time around, they followed every second instruction Albert Roca would have wanted them to. Apart from the twenty minutes in the second half when the Stags looked dangerous and had a couple of chances, the Blues controlled the game.

The men from Tampines have to pick up their game as their manager Mohammad Nawas put it, "We were poor". So they have to pull up their socks and have an almighty go. One must not forget that the away rule kicks into play, and the clean sheet in Bengaluru feels like gold at the moment.

I go for a 2-1 win for Tampines, and the Blues to go through on away goals.
