Tough draw?

While the mixed doubles pair of Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra will run into the third seeds in the first round, Sharath Kamal is slated to meet Rio Olympics champion Ma Long in the third round in men's singles, should he win his second round match.

Similarly, Sathiyan will lock horns with Japan's Harimoto, who is a sensation, in the third round, if he wins his second round matches.

Manika Batra will meet Tin-Tin Ho in the first round. Although the England player has lost to Indians earlier, she is capable of springing a surprise. Manika needs to be wary of her right from the word go.

On the other hand, Sutirtha Mukherjee will be up against Linda Bergström, who is ranked 78 on the circuit, in the first round.

Every athlete makes sure they leave no stone unturned while preparing for the Olympics. And India's Sathiyan too has done the same.
