AB de Villiers: "We were short with the bat. We laid a good foundation, 220 was reachable, unfortunately lost 30-40 runs in the end. Lessons learnt. Towards the end we had a nice partnership, but not too many after Rillee and myself and that cost us the game. The track was tough to play on. It was very slow, slower than the IPL tracks, but no excuses. "

The chase was never going to be easy on this surface. West Indies were cautious in the beginning and then suddenly lost two quick wickets to Imran Tahir and the match was back in the balance.

Out walked Kieron Pollard and he smoked three sixes to send out a message. He got good support from Darren Bravo and the duo stretched the match deep. Bravo got out but Pollard held fort and with Carlos Brathwaite he got Windies close.

Aaron Phangiso was the standout bowler as he prized out 3 wickets, and Imran Tahir was tight as well. But the total was never going to be enough and in the end West Indies got home.
