That's that for the night. We will be there tomorrow for the France and Argentina games. Do join us then. For now it's a bye from here.

02:28 (IST)30 NOV 2022

A couple of tweets before we end this one.

02:25 (IST)30 NOV 2022

FULL-TIME! Wales 0 England 3. A comfortable win for England after they scored thrice in the second half with Marcus Rashford scoring two. Phil Foden with the other one.  England finish as the group winners. Wales were poor and are officially knocked out.

02:24 (IST)30 NOV 2022

John Stones has a great chance to add a fourth but awkwardly skies it over from very close range.

02:20 (IST)30 NOV 2022

4 minutes of added time.

02:13 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Another chance as Bellingham on the left shoots straight at Ward and then his follow-up is turned wide by Foden with the goalkeeper beaten.

02:12 (IST)30 NOV 2022

No hat-trick for Marcus Rashford as he is replaced by Jack Grealish. Rashford gets a standing ovation though.

02:11 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Apologies for the two goals magically disappearing from the page. Here's a reminder of how they were scored:

First goal was by Marcus Rashford in the 49th minute from a direct free-kick. A beautiful curler that beats Ward on his left-hand side

The second by Phil Foden in the 51st minute after he was found at the back post by Harry Kane. Ben Davies lost the ball and Kane found Foden for a simple finish

02:04 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Here come England again - Callum Wilson feeds Rashford on the right, but Ward saves it with his feet.

02:04 (IST)30 NOV 2022

That Rashford second goal was England's 100th goal scored in World Cup finals.

01:59 (IST)30 NOV 2022

GOAL! Marcus Rashford in the 68th minute! Wales 0 England 3. England now putting on a show. A long ball floated over the top sets Rashford free, he cuts inside on his left-foot and then drives it at Danny Ward, it goes off the keeper's left leg and in. The pace of the shot beat Ward there.

01:58 (IST)30 NOV 2022

England make another change - Luke Shaw off, Kieran Trippier on.

01:57 (IST)30 NOV 2022

STAT courtesy BBC: Harry Kane is the first English player to assist three goals at a single World Cup since David Beckham in 2002.

01:49 (IST)30 NOV 2022

With the game safe and qualification almost secured, England make a triple change: Harry Kane for Callum Wilson. Kyle Walker's return from injury is over too, with Trent Alexander-Arnold replacing him. Kalvin Phillips comes on as well. Declan Rice goes off.

01:48 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Wales threaten with Dan James curling one just wide of the far post and then Kieffer Moore shooting - with the help of a deflection from Maguire - which Pickford does well to push it away. That was going in.

01:37 (IST)30 NOV 2022

A half-time substitution for Wales - Gareth Bale is off and Brennan Johnson is on.

01:36 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Second half begins.

01:21 (IST)30 NOV 2022

HALF-TIME! Wales 0 England 0. Boring half with Wales sitting deep and absorbing all the pressure from England. Wales did not create much and England just had the one shot on target. Rashford's was the best chance of the half but was smothered by Ward.

01:21 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Joe Allen gets the ball on the inside-right channel and cuts in to fire the left-footed shot well over.

01:19 (IST)30 NOV 2022

A corner to the back stick and Stones gets up and floats the header across goal but an easy catch for Ward.

01:17 (IST)30 NOV 2022

5 minutes of added time.

01:11 (IST)30 NOV 2022

England win the ball in midfield and then Foden and Kane release Rashford on the left but his cross with three waiting in the middle is cut out by the right-back.

01:10 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Now Rashford tries the scissor-kick ala Richarlison but skews it well wide.

01:09 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Almost a dream goal from England. It's Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden. The former with dazzling feet and the latter on the spin fires his left-footed shot well over.

01:08 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Neco Williams is off and on comes Connor Roberts - it's a concussion sub, following the protocols. So both teams will now have 6 substitutions.

01:06 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Neco Williams is down. He took a stinging drive from Rashford straight on his forehead. Wales are preparing a substitution. The medical staff are taking him off now.

01:03 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Wales are happy defending and are parking the bus with a back four and two midfielders in front of them. It's becoming very difficult for England to break that defensive wall.

01:02 (IST)30 NOV 2022

YELLOW CARD FOR DAN JAMES! Dan James is late on John Stones and he gets booked.

00:49 (IST)30 NOV 2022

Another free-kick on the left and it's to the back stick but Maguire's header is well wide.

00:45 (IST)30 NOV 2022

England a free-kick on the left, it's cleared and the ball falls to Phil Foden on the right who slams the drive well wide of the far-post.

00:42 (IST)30 NOV 2022

First big chance and it falls to Marcus Rashford. Harry Kane sets him through but Danny Ward comes rushing out to save.

00:31 (IST)30 NOV 2022

KICK-OFF!

00:31 (IST)30 NOV 2022

The players from both sides take the knee before kick-off.

00:20 (IST)30 NOV 2022

The players are in the tunnel and we should have the anthems next.

00:06 (IST)30 NOV 2022

The players are doing the warm-ups.

23:25 (IST)29 NOV 2022

But he has made three other changes:

Joe Allen starts – fit again after a hamstring injury – instead of Harry Wilson, while winger Daniel James comes in for full-back Connor Roberts.

While there is an enforced change with Danny Ward replacing the suspended Wayne Hennessey.

23:24 (IST)29 NOV 2022

For Wales, Rob Page has stuck by the under-fire duo of Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.

23:23 (IST)29 NOV 2022

England make four changes to the team that drew against USA.

Phil Foden and Marcus Rashford partner Harry Kane up front, with Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka dropping to the bench.

Kyle Walker is fit having sat out the opening two matches and replaces Kieran Trippier at right back, while in midfield Jordan Henderson replaces Mason Mount.

23:18 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Wales: Ward; N Williams, Mepham, Rodon, B Davies; Allen, Ampadu; Bale, Ramsey, James; Moore.

23:18 (IST)29 NOV 2022

England XI: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Henderson, Rice, Bellingham; Rashford, Kane, Foden.

23:18 (IST)29 NOV 2022

The teams are out.

23:16 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Wales manager Rob Page had this to say pre-match:

"We've worked so hard to get into this position," said Page.

"My frustration and disappointment for the players is that we've shown nowhere near the levels of performance that have got us to this World Cup. That's what really disappoints me.

" We've picked them up, we've addressed it, we've got to draw a line under it, the last performance.

"Irrespective of the other results, whether we go home or whether we go through, we have to give a performance that our supporters can be proud of.

"We want to react in a positive manner and I'll pick a team that'll go out and give everything to the cause."

23:00 (IST)29 NOV 2022

We will have the lineups as soon as they are out. So stay tuned as we build up to that.

22:50 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Here are the permutations and combinations (courtesy BBC) for Wales to qualify after tonight's game:

Wales must beat England and hope for a draw between the United States and Iran.

If USA or Iran win, Wales will need to beat England by four or more goals to finish second ahead of them.

22:49 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Before we head any further, here are the permutations and combinations (courtesy BBC) for England to qualify after tonight's game:

England will go through regardless if they avoid a four-goal defeat by Wales.

They'll also finish top of Group B if Iran and the USA draw and they don't lose to Wales by four or more goals.

If England draw against Wales and Iran beat the USA, Iran top the group and England finish second.

If England draw to Wales and the USA beat Iran by at least four goals, the USA will finish top of the group, with England in second.

If England lose to Wales and the USA beat Iran, USA finish top of the group and England qualify second.

22:45 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Gareth Southgate wants to find the right formula against Wales and says "We have to balance freshness with stability and that's always a decision you're making when picking a team. We have a chance to win the group with a positive result," the England manager said."There's a lot resting on the game for both teams. Our performance is the key."

22:44 (IST)29 NOV 2022

One man who has come in for criticism has been Gareth Bale, who has been not at his best. But Bale said he "does not feel responsibility" to carry the side to victory.

Talking pre-match here's what he said: "We're a team. We're a nation and we work hard for each other. We need to deliver as a team, it's not one person that needs to do anything," Bale said.

"Of course we'd have loved to be winning and doing a lot better but the reality is, football is hard. If it was that easy, we'd be favourites to win the World Cup."

Tuesday's task will certainly not be easy but Bale has hope that Wales can cause an upset against their local rivals.

"Everyone has weaknesses," he added. "We know how difficult it will be. England are a very good team.

"They're one of the favourites to win the tournament. We are under no illusions it will be hard. There's been a few shocks in the tournament already and there's no reason why we can't do the same."

22:43 (IST)29 NOV 2022

Coming to Wales, they started with a 1-1 draw against USA. They went 0-1 down before a late Gareth Bale penalty rescued them. But they slumped to a 0-2 loss against Iran as the Asian side scored twice late on. Wales' goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey sent off for a rash challenge. That was the first red card of the tournament as well. The loss has put the pressure on Wales going into their must-win game against England.
