Game. Set. Match. Nadal takes an early lead in the game but Sela crawls back in a final glimmer of hope. Good back and forth between the two players at deuce but Nadal clinches it with a couple of solid returns and wins the match.
Nadal starts out strong in the game with his serves. Sela produces a superb winner at the net and forces the game to deuce and the longest game of the match so far. Sela showed great persistence but Nadal somehow carved out the win to make it 4-1.
Nadal serves first in the third set. Starts out with a couple of unforced errors and Sela capitalizes to break his serve for the first time in the match.
Nadal wins his service game after a couple of interesting rallies as Sela does not make it easy for the Spaniard. But Nadal closes the game with two aces to take a 4-2 lead in the second set.
Sela starts with a little disagreement with the umpire and perhaps that messed with his focus a bit as he double faults on his serve. However, he recovers quickly to win the game and keep the deficit at 1.
Good service game from the Spaniard but Sela had his moments in the rallies. Still, Nadal manages to win the game after the deuce saw Sela produce two great winners.
Nadal starts the second set on the same note with a break. Strong returns, good strokeplay and quick movement across the court. Classic Rafa in motion.
Game and Set!! Nadal serves for the set and wins the game with relative ease as he serves strongly to deny Sela any chance of a comeback. Clinical from the Spaniard.
Errant start by Sela, but he serves well to keep the pressure on Nadal and closes out the point after a successful review call. All square in the set so far.
Great tennis from the two players to start the game out. Nadal makes a couple of errors that allows Sela to come back in it at 30-30. However, strong service at the end gets it done for Rafa.
Hello and welcome to the live coverage of Wimbledon from The All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club as French Open champions Rafael Nadal begins his 13th campaign in London, England. Nadal has won the Wimbledon crown twice (2008 and 2010) in his illustrious career.
The King of Clay is back on grass, as he looks to continue the winning form that saw him crowned champion of the French Open...yet again.
Nadal, who is undoubtedly considered to be one of the greatest tennis players of the modern generation, has won a total of 17 titles so far in his career and will be looking for an 18th one, as he gets his Wimbledon 2018 campaign underway today.
While Nadal has undoubtedly been the King of Clay, winning as many as 11 French Open titles, his form on the other courts has not been as fruitful. The Spaniard has won the US Open thrice, Wimbledon twice, and the US Open just once in his career so far.
As Nadal gets set for his first match at this year's Wimbledon, he will look to make short work of Israeli player Dudi Sela. The 33-year-old, who is currently ranked 128 in the world, will look to set up a stiff challenge, but the odds are stacked highly against him.
