The 2018 World Team Table Tennis Championships are currently underway in Sweden. Taking place in the city of Halmstad, the championships will take place in between April 29 and May 6. Both Indian Men and Women teams will be present at the championships and will hope to replicate the form that won them the Gold medal at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.  The players who are representing India at the Championships are Mouma Das, Manika Batra, Sutirtha Mukherjee, Madhurika Patkar, and Pooja Sahasrabudhe. The same five-member team won the Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.  Indian Women's team was drawn into Group A alongside China, Sweden, Singapore, Russia, and Belarus. However, they failed to qualify for the round of 16, losing all five of their matches.  India will now face Luxembourg in a Rank 13-24 round-of-16 match. If they manage to beat Luxembourg, the Indian women will face Hungary in the quarterfinal.  The Indian women have had a disappointing tournament and will hope to get some sort of consolation from their R13-24 matches and finish the tournament in a decent position.      Indian women have had a rather disappointing run at World Team Table Tennis Championships
