Raw Women's Championship Match Take 2: Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (Champion)

Sasha Banks makes her entrance, her second of the evening for this match that has no disqualifications, no count-outs and has the stipulation of falls counting anywhere. Charlotte makes her entrance next.

The match starts off with the two locking horns in the middle of the ring and trying to fight each other off. Charlotte gets the upper hand briefly but Sasha dropkicks her, forcing her to get out of the ring, Sasha then dives through the second rope on a ringside Charlotte and proceeds to punch her down. She then connects with a suplex outside the ring.

Sasha then covers Charlotte for a pin but Charlotte kicks out at ringside. Back in the ring, Sasha kicks Charlotte in the gut and then kicks her again, launching her outside the ring. Sasha then attempts to go for a double knee but Charlotte moves out. The two clothesline each other at ringside and are both downed as we cut to commercials.

Back from the commercials, we see that Sasha tries to get Charlotte in a bridge pin that Charlotte kicks out. Charlotte then gets the upper hand as she proceeds lock Sasha's own arms around her neck. She then sends Sasha flying to the ropes and after an attempt from Sasha to reverse the momentum, she kicks Sasha to the ground.

Sasha eventually kicks Charlotte away after the latter attempted a figure four leglock and got her own offence into the match by beating her down in the corner. Charlotte kicks her back from ringside and puts Sasha against the ropes, trying to go for a suplex. Sasha lands on the apron, however and connects with a series of chops across Sasha's chest.

Sasha proceeds to slap Charlotte back across her chest but Charlotte connects with a big boot on Sasha, Sasha hits her head on the apron and looks knocked out at ringside. Charlotte then covers her for the pin but Sasha kicks out.

Charlotte then hits Sasha with a natural Selection, the two still at ringside, and covers her for the pin. Sasha kicks out again.

Sasha then gets a kendo stick out from under the ring and starts beating Charlotte up with it. "ECW" chants break out in the crowd as Charlotte attempts to fight back by going for a Suplex. Sasha tries to reverse it but Charlotte ends up getting the upper hand by connecting with a neckbreaker instead.

Charlotte then puts Sasha in a figure four leglock which she ends up modifying for further effect. Sasha gets her hands on the kendo stick and hits Charlotte with it again, forcing Charlotte to let go of the hold.

Charlotte then chops Sasha across the chest several times, with the two fighting up the ramp. Sasha fights back by punching Charlotte in the face but Charlotte carries her towards the stage and asks the commentators to vacate the announce table.

She then tears the table apart, throwing away the monitors. Sasha attempts to fight back but Charlotte throws her on the table and subsequently knocks her to the side of the ramp.

Charlotte then got on top of the announce table and connected with a moonsault on a downed Sasha. She then went for the pinfall attempt abut Sasha kicked out.

Charlotte then proceeded to drag Sasha towards the ring, continuing to beat her down. Sasha eventually got back at her by connecting with a back body drop at ringside. Sasha then got on the barricade and connected with a high flying move. Sasha covers Charlotte for the pin but Charlotte kicks out.

The fight spills into the crowd as the women continue to beat each other down. Sasha starts climbing up the stairs of the stands and after a brief exchange of offence between the two, ends up suspending Charlotte through the railing. She then puts Charlotte in a Banks statement and Charlotte taps out to the move.

Result: Sasha Banks defeats Charlotte via Submission and is the new Women's Champion

After the match, Ric Flair comes out and raises Sasha Banks' hand in victory. He then proceeds to hug her and endorses her as the champion.

Segment: Sasha Banks and Bayley backstage


Bayley talks about how excited she was for Sasha Banks' match. Sasha says that it wasn't about her or Bayley tonight but it was about the Women's championship instead. She promised that she was going to win and said that she would dedicate the victory to Ric Flair as Charlotte had tarnished his legacy.

We cut to commercials.

Tag Team Championship Match: New Day vs. Gallows and Anderson

The New Day make their entrance by pouring Booty-O's over the commentators and onto the ringside crowd. We cut to commercials.

Back from the commercials, New Day cuts a promo with Xavier Woods talking about how the team was just 17 days away from becoming the longest reigning tag team champions. The promo is cut short by Anderson and Gallows making their entrance.

The match begins with Xavier Woods and Karl Anderson in the ring. Luke Gallows took out the rest of the New Day members outside the ring as Anderson connected with a powerbomb. Gallows gets tagged in and connects with a fireman's carry. He attempts a pin on Woods but Woods kicks out.

Gallows tags Anderson back in and Anderson gets into a back-and-forth with Woods before getting beaten down, but not before making the tag to Gallows. Anderson gets knocked out of the ring as Gallows hits Woods with a kick to the head. We cut to commercials.

Back from the commercials, Xavier Woods takes out Luke Gallows in the middle of the ring with a dropkick as the two tag their respective partners in. Karl Anderson and Big E come face to face as Big E wastes no time and connects with a series of Belly to Belly suplexes on Anderson.

Gallows distracts Big E and Anderson attempts a roll-up, he then hits Big E with a dropkick. Big E then proceeds to attempt throwing Anderson out of the ring but Anderson stops himself from being launched out. Big E connects with a spear instead, throwing both himself and Karl Anderson out of the ring.

Back in the ring, New Day attempt to go for a double team move after Big E tags Xavier Woods in, they attempt the move on Anderson but Gallows interferes with a superkick on Big-E. 

A spinebuster by Karl Anderson connects on the tagged-in Xavier Woods. He then tags in Luke Gallows and the two connect with a double team. Gallows covers Woods for the pinfall but Woods kicks out.

The two hoist Woods for an attempted Magic Killer but Big E interferes. Luke Gallows connects with a sit-out powerbomb on Big E instead. Big E gets thrown out of the ring. Anderson gets tagged in and gets into a back and forth with Woods.

After hitting each other with a bunch of offensive moves including kicks, forearms and punches. Anderson rolls Woods up for a pin, Woods tumbles and Rolls him up instead and secures the victory via pinfall.

Result: New Day defeat Bullet Club via Pinfall

Segment: Paul Heyman interview


A video package is shown of the Goldberg-Brock Lesnar match at Survivor Series. Michael Cole asks Paul Heyman what happened. Heyman responds by saying that they screwed up and that there was no getting around that. He says that they took Goldberg too lightly. 

Lesnar says that they thought that it would be Brock's easiest match but Goldberg broke Lesnar's ribs by spearing him. This resulted in Lesnar being unable to breathe, thus losing the match quickly. 

Heyman then goes on to say, amidst fighting back tears that the humiliation that Brock Lesnar faced was now a part of his legacy and that there was no way he could ever live that down. Heyman says that the loss had put Lesnar in the mindset that he had something to prove. He goes on to say that it scared Heyman because he had never seen Lesnar that way before. 

Upon being asked what was next for Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman confirms that Brock Lesnar too will be in the Royal Rumble match. He promises that there would be "28 losers" in the Royal Rumble match and "1 Victim", stating that the victim would be Goldberg.

Segment: Kevin Owens backstage


Kevin Owens is getting interviewed backstage. Owens says that he was still best friends with Chris Jericho. He expresses regret at not being by Chris Jericho side as he checked into a medical facility following the assault by Seth Rollins. Owens says that he only lost the match because the attack on Chris Jericho was weighing on his mind. He then asks the interviewer to get out of there.

Match: Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens


The United States Champion Roman Reigns comes out first. Kevin Owens makes his entrance next.

Before the match could even begin officially, Kevin Owens beats down Roman Reigns in the corner. Owens then tells the referee to ring the bell to start things off. The match begins and Owens continues beating Reigns down in the corner.

Owens then kicks a downed Reigns in the head, forcing reigns outside the ring. He then screams "That's why I am the champion" at Roman Reigns. Reigns starts punching Owens back and puts him back in the ring as Owens rolls out again. Owens attempts an Irish whip at ringside on Reigns but Reigns reverses it and throws Owens into the barricades instead.

A similar attempt afterwards by Reigns to Irish whip Kevin Owens results in Owens reversing it to send Reigns crashing through the steel steps instead.

After bringing Reigns back into the ring, a Running Senton by Owens connects on Reigns as he pins Reigns for an attempt at the victory. Roman Reigns kicks out as we cut to commercials.

Back from commercials, we see Reigns hitting Owens with a series of clotheslines, Kevin Owens then moves out of the way of a running Reigns who nearly collides with the referee instead. Taking advantage of the situation Owens hits a DDT on Reigns and pins him. Reigns kicks out.

Owens then mocks Reigns and hits a Cannonball to a downed Reigns in the corner. Owens then proceeds to kick Reigns in the back and puts him in a chin lock, wearing Reigns down. Reigns tries to fight back but Owens holds him even tighter by increasing the strength of the hold.

Reigns looks like he's fading out as Owens continues to trash talk. He insults Reigns on his greasy hair and tells him to tap out. Reigns finally starts fighting back and escapes the hold. Owens connects with another Senton on Reigns' back and puts him in the chin lock again.

Reigns finally powers out of the hold, Owens tries to go for another Senton but Reigns counters it this time by putting his knees up. Reigns then starts to mount offence on Owens, connecting with a series of forearms on Owens in the corner and a big boot. Reigns attempts a Samoan drop but Owens slips out of it and the two trade blows in the middle of the ring.

Reigns finally catches a running Owens and delivers the Samoan drop. He covers Owens for an attempted pinfall but Owens kicks out.

Roman Reigns starts powering up for a Superman punch but Owens slides out of the ring. Reigns follows him outside and connects with a driveby. He then puts Owens back into the ring and tries to come back himself but Owens hits a superkick and pins Reigns for a pinfall attempt.

Reigns kicks out in two.

Owens walks over Roman Reigns' face and goes to the top rope in an attempt to execute a high flying move. Reigns quickly moves to punch him and climbs to the turnbuckle as well. Owens throws him off but Reigns comes back, connecting with the Superman punch. Owens goes out of the ring again.

Reigns then runs over the steel steps and connects with another Superman punch. He then powers up for a spear in the corner, Owens counters it with a kick but Roman doesn't lose momentum, bounches off the ropes and connects with a spear anyway.

Reigns covers Owens for the pinfall and wins the match.

Result: Roman Reigns defeats Kevin Owens via Pinfall

Segment: Sheamus and Cesaro in a bar


Sheamus and Cesaro can be seen drinking. Cesaro says that they're way too different which is why they could never work out. He then calls Sheamus a hothead. The two proceed to argue. 

Sheamus then admits that he couldn't stomach Cesaro but that he was his best chance of winning Gold again. 

Some guys in the bar start to deride Sheamus and Cesaro for their looks. One of the guys burps in Cesaro's face after calling him a "village person". Both Cesaro and Sheamus calm each other down and Cesaro suggests they leave. Sheamus responds by saying "Maybe we shouldn't".

The two then proceed to beat down everyone at the bar in an all-out brawl and Sheamus says that it looked like they had made some "improvements", he then announces the bar as an open bar and the two raise a toast to each other over drinks.
