WWE SmackDown Live Results, April 10th 2018, Live updates & commentary; New GM announced, Bryan in dream main event

Here's a quick recap of what happened on tonight's episode of SmackDown.

Daniel Bryan's resignation as SmackDown GM was followed by the announcement that Paige will take his place as GM.
The Usos def. The New Day to become No. 1 Contenders for Tag Titles
Naomi def. Natalya
Peyton Royce and Billie Kay a.k.a the Iconic Duo make their SmackDown debut
Carmella def. Charlotte to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion after cashing in MITB on a downed Charlotte
Randy Orton def. Bobby Roode & Rusev to become the No. 1 contender for the United States title
AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan ends in a DQ after an interruption from Shinsuke Nakamura

This is Jojo signing off after yet another action-packed episode of SmackDown which added to all the surprises from the entire WrestleMania week.

Bryan delivers kicks before they climb up the ropes and AJ falls with his body weight on Bryan. The two are down as Nakamura steps in and delivers a Kinshasa to Bryan before delivering one more to AJ. The match is called off due to the interruption and Nakamura attacks AJ a couple more times before exiting the ring.

Styles sets up for the phenomenal forearm but catches Bryan's kick with his midsection. Bryan sets up for the finisher but Styles counters. The two struggle and AJ ends up in a yes lock before being set upside down onto the turnbuckles.

Bryan hits a big move on AJ before going for an armbar to Styles' injured arm. AJ reverses it to a calf crusher and the two trade submission moves before AJ goes for a failed pin attempt.

We return to see Bryan deliver a speedy elbow to the face of AJ, followed by a drop kick into the corner. Bryan delivers his trademark Yes kicks but AJ manages to counter it after the first few. Styles takes Bryan down, showing great agility but fails to capitalise.

Bryan is in control but AJ hits him with a huge dropkick, sending him crashing outside. AJ goes for a suicide dive and the move finds its target as we head into another commercial break.

We return to it and the two seem equally matched as they trade holds. AJ takes Bryan down to the mat but fails to get a pinfall. Daniel hits AJ with some stiff kicks before focusing on dismantling his left arm.

Still backstage, Renee walks up to AJ Styles who is very excited to face the legendary Daniel Bryan. He also mentions he doesn't need an apology from Nakamura, but would want to "shove his fist down Shinsuke's throat".

Carmella shows up backstage for an interview about her victory. She says the Queen overstayed her welcome and she, the 'princess' was there to take it from her. She gets emotional for a second but it was clearly a ruse as she thanks herself for the win. She also disregards the Iconic Duo's help in the matter.

Rusev is fired up and delivers a big machka kick on Roode followed by a submission. Randy comes from behind and sends Rusev into the ring post. Randy hits Roode with an RKO outta' nowhere and goes for a succesful pin. It's official! Randy will face Jinder for his title at Backlash.

Randy Orton def. Bobby Roode & Rusev to become the No. 1 contender for the United States title.

Bobby Roode and Randy Orton are squaring off now with great intensity. Orton delivers a powerslam in the middle of the ring but Rusev catches him off guard and puts the Viper through the table.

Rusev smacks Randy on the announce table and works on Randy but the Bulgarian is slammed onto the table himself.

We return to see The Viper working on breaking Roode in the ring. Rusev takes a neckbreaker from Roode but he fails to capitalise. Randy and Rusev fight it out as Jinder watches with a big smile from ringside.

Bobby Roode vs Randy Orton vs Rusev (Triple Threat Match for United Staes title No.1 Contender)

We go into commercials right after the three men enter the ring. This looks like it could be one of the best matches of the night; if we could only watch it instead of advertisements.

Carmella becomes the first woman to not only win the Money in the Bank but also the first to successfully cash it in!

Carmella vs. Charlotte (c) for SmackDown Women's Championship

Carmella yells at the officials to start the match and the moment they do, she hits Charlotte with a big kick to the head and immediately goes for a pin. The ref counts to three and we have a new SmackDown Women's Champion!

Carmella def. Charlotte to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion!

Charlotte is barely moving now but the Duo keeps going. They drag her to the middle of the ring and stand over her like hunters standing over their prey. The officials have to come to the aid of Charlotte as the Duo vacate the ring and Carmella comes in to cash her Money in the Bank briefcase against a downed Charlotte.

Charlotte is taken to the announce table by the duo who continue pummeling the Queen, sending her crashing headfirst into the ring post then into the steel steps.

They mock Charlotte for a while before Charlotte attacks the Duo. Charlotte is outnumbered as Kay takes her down with a superkick.

The Duo comes out to a huge pop and 'NXT' chants before they introduce themselves and mentions Charlotte's WrestleMania match was not even iconic.

SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte makes her way to the ring to talk about her WrestleMania victory. She thanks Asuka for making her work so hard to achieve the win and ponders on her next opponent as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay a.k.a the Iconic Duo make their SmackDown debut.

Backstage we see a strangely dressed Renee Young knocking on Shinsuke's locker room door. She questions him about his attack on AJ Styles. Nakamura says he was very emotional and that he is really sorry, following it up with a not-so-subtle wink.

Renee calls him out for being disingenuous and Nakamura replies: "No speak Engrish" before walking off.

Natalya hits Naomi with a discus clothesline but yet again can't get a pinfall. Naomi takes Nattie down to the mat before delivering a crushing moonsault. Naomi goes for the pin and that is it! Naomi wins the match.

Naomi counters a suplex and takes Nattie down before unleashing a flurry of kicks. Nattie hits Naomi with a powerbomb but fails to capitalise.

Natalya has Noami in a submission move as we return from commercials. She follows it up with a suplex and resumes to maintain control with an abdominal stretch submission on Naomi.

Naomi vs. Natalya

This might be the last time the two face off depending on how the Superstar Shake-up turns out. Naomi takes control early and hits Nattie with a slingshot leg drop from the top rope.

Backstage we see footage of Natalya interrupting Naomi's victory speech from earlier today.

The bludgeon brothers show up as the Usos are on their way out. The Usos are currently the victims of their mind games.

Woods is caught in a huge frogsplash which is followed by a pin and the ref counts to three and it's done! The Usos are the new No. 1 contenders.

The Usos def. The New Day to become No. 1 Contenders.

Woods taunts Jey Uso but takes a big kick to the midsection. Big E and Woods put Jimmy through a bodyslam into a backbreaker. Even this fails to get the pin in The New Day's favor.

Xavier Woods in trouble now as the Usos corner him but Big E spears Jimmy through the middle ropes and out of the ring.

We return to see Big E dive into the apron, missing his opponent. The two teams are holding out well and Jimmy Uso hits Big E with a huge suicide dive.
