...
Orton tries to enter the ring but Rusev doesn't let him in. The two have a stare-off before Orton picks up the mic and then enters the ring; he tells Rusev that he hasn't beaten him and that he could be his opponent for Summerslam.

Rusev speaks something in an unknown language and when Rusev tries to attack Orton, Orton lands an RKO... outta nowhere...
...
Rusev gets on the mic and says that he was promised competition after coming to SmackDown Live, but that he hasn't been given competition as everyone is afraid of him, and that's why he doesn't have an opponent at Summerslam.

As Rusev's music hits, Randy Orton enters the arena...

Perhaps Randy Orton vs Rusev could be the match-up at Summerslam 2017.
...
But he counters and kicks him out of the ring... Rusev recovers and hits a huge kick and locks in the Accolade, and Gable, who was dazed from the previous kicks, taps out.

Rusev wins against Chad Gable.

...
Former member of American Alpha, Chad Gable, will take on the Bulgarian Brute, Rusev, next, on Smackdown.
...
In a backstage interview, Jinder Mahal with the Singh Brothers, says that it doesn't matter who he fights at Summerslam - Cena or Nakamura. He says that he feels xenophobia whenever he walks on the street. He proclaims that no one can end the reign of the Modern Day Maharajah.

Lynch tags in Naomi who lands a leg drop and a cover... but it's just the two count. Natalya asks for a timeout and tags in Carmella, who gets huge kicks on her knee by Naomi; Carmella counters with a huge shot of her own but Naomi is not impressed and gets a huge kick.
...
...
...
Just as the match ends, The Power of Love - Mike and Maria Kanellis come out and say that they're glad he lost... that's quite... erm... unusual.

Zayn tries to work on English's arm, English gets Zayn in a roll-up pin and gets the three count!

English wins the match. This is a huge upset!
...
...
The operatic voice of Aiden English is to take on Sami Zayn next. English is at it again with his incredible voice... Zayn doesn't seem to be a fan, by the looks of it.
...
...
In a segment titled Fashion Peaks, Tyler Breeze is on a mission to find Fandango in another genius comedic skit. The lights dim and Fandango appears and looks dazed with The Ascension by his side... but it all appears to be Breeze's dream.

To be continued...
...
The Usos have an improvised theme song as they make their way to the ring to New Day's theme, mocking the Tag Team champs.

The two brothers mock them even more as they steal all their catchphrases.

...
...
...
Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon are with the referee who's injured and they're met with a very, very angry Kevin Owens. Shane McMahon says that referee's decision stays and says that there will be a rematch at Summerslam for the United States Championship.

Owens demands a better referee, someone who can see better and make good calls.

Bryan makes the call that Shane McMahon could be the perfect referee.

AJ Styles vs Kevin Owens for the United States Champion at Summerslam with Shane McMahon as the Referee.
...
Owens is not pleased and remonstrates with the referee and angrily walks out of the ring. This is not the last time we'll see these two battle it out in the ring.
...
Owens then hit two huge kicks, but inadvertently lands a shot on the referee. Styles tries to take advantage by getting a roll-up cover and Styles gets the three count.

Styles wins and retains the US title.

But that looks controversial as Owens had his shoulder up the whole time. Perhaps the referee couldn't see it because he was hit in the face moments ago.
...
Owens tried a powerbomb, but Styles evades it and lands a Pele kick. AJ now has Owens on the Calf Crusher and Owens almost taps, but gets to the rope! That was very close.
...
Styles is frantic; multiple kicks and forearms to wear out Owens. Both wrestlers look tired but both of them want this title so badly! Styes tries to go for the Styles Clash but Owens counters to get a breather. Styles tries to land another Phenomenal Forearm but Owens moves and lands a huge superkick!

Covers, almost the three count.
...
The US Champ hits a few more chops; then lands a suplex - again the two count. Styles lands a few lofty blows and Owens is down by the turnbuckle. Styles readies himself to land the Phenomenal Forearm, but Owens is not there. He then lands a huge forearm from over the top ropes on Owens. Owens then sidesteps Styles and throws him into the barricade.
...
...
... back in the ring, Owens still has the advantage as he lands a huge boot and covers... but it's just the two count again. Styles looks to regain the momentum with a beautifully executed dropkick. And then goes to work on him with a few loud chops; and then a kneedrop... covers, but it's just the two count.
