WWE SmackDown Results: May 1, 2018, Live Results And Commentary

Here's a recap of happened tonight on SmackDown Live:

Jeff Hardy made a surprise appearance on Miz TV
Paige announced Randy Orton & Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin & The Miz for the night
Randy Orton & Jeff Hardy def. Shelton Benjamin & The Miz
Samoa Joe made a surprise appearance during AJ Style's segment
Sheamus def. Xavier Woods
Charlotte, Becky Lynch & Asuka def. Carmella & the IIconics

With that, another action packed episode of SmackDown comes to a close. This is Jojo, signing off.

Charlotte delivered a scary moonsault to Carmella and Kay on the outside while Asuka caught Royce in her signature submission and Royce tapped out.

Result: Charlotte, Becky Lynch & Asuka def. Carmella & the IIconics

Royce went for a pin but it was only a 2 count. Asuka reversed a kick into one of her own as all six women made their way to the ring.

Carmella was desperate after three failed attempts at getting the pin but Charlotte kept kicking out. Royce is tagged in and has Charlotte in a submission. Charlotte tags in Asuka and she takes care of Royce in a furious fashion.

The Iconics double team Charlotte and get a near fall but Becky interferes

Becky tried to make a tag to Asuka but the Empress was taken out by the IIconics. Charlotte takes the tag and cleans out the opposing team before delivering a big suplex to Carmella.

Charlotte is tagged in and so is Carmella. The IIconics help Carmella escape a submission but Charlotte catches The IIconics with a suicide dive just as Mella escapes.

Becky was double teamed by the IIconics and Billlie Kay was the legal woman as Asuka was tagged in. Kay got Asuka with a slap to the face and recieved a big rear end from the Empress of Tomorrow.

Charlotte starts the match off against Carmella but Peyton Royce and and Becky Lynch are tagged in before the action begins.

Back from commecials now, and we see Andrade Cien Almas' manager Zelina and she mentions Andrade will make his SmackDown appearance soon.

The Absolution ask Paige for a title shot and the GM says they have to earn it. The Absolution are left disappointed as we headed into commercials.

Backstage, Becky Lynch was seen talking to the Absolution before the team approached SmackDown GM Paige.

Woods hit Sheamus with a kick to the head and set up for a big move but Cesaro distracted woods by attacking his teammates. Sheamus took advantage and caught Woods in a pin and got the three count to win the match!

Result: Sheamus def. Xavier Woods

Woods delivered a corkscrew leg drop but failed to capitalize.

The two exchanged chops and Woods took control with some stiff kicks.

We return to see Woods take a back breaker from Sheamus and he looks to be in trouble.

Sheamus sent Woods crashing into the bottom rope as we headed into commercials.

Woods delivers a huge dropkick, sending Sheamus out of the ring, and follows up with a suicide dive.

Sheamus starts off strong, sending Woods back first into the turnbuckle but took a big kick.

Backstage, Charlotte approaches Asuka and Becky Lynch and says she wants to teach Carmella some respect.

Nakamura mocks a fallen AJ a little before teasing a Kinshasa and then delivers one for real, knocking out the World Champion.

Joe threatens Roman Reigns and it looks like he may be on the wrong show...

Nakamura interrupts Joe and sneaks up behind AJ to deliver a sneaky low blow.

Samoa Joe's music hits and he shows up to interrupt AJ!

AJ mentions he will do anything to defend his title, even break the rules.

AJ Styles appeared in the ring to give an interview about his controversial match at The Greatest Royal Rumble with Renee conducting the segment.

Cass attacks the impostor and he looks to have won the fight but keeps taunting his opponent as a team of officials step out to the ring to break it up.

Cass calls out Bryan and Bryan's music hits but it looks to be an impostor, a really small man with a fake beard on.

Cass teases his Backlash match against Daniel Bryan and mocks the former GM, calling him small and week.

Lana showed up backstage with Rusev Day and Big Cass made a surprise appearance to the ring before we headed into commercials.

The New Day's gifts of pancakes were rejected by The Bar; they challenge the trio to a match and Xavier accepts to face Sheamus,

The Bar was seen backstage, running into The New Day who mock them for losing the RAW Tag Team titles

Backstage, The IIconics introduce Carmella and they have a little segment together.

Randy caught Benjamin in an RKO and tagged in Jeff to finish up with a Swanton Bomb before Hardy got the three copunt and won the match. Immediately as the bell rang, Randy gave an RKO to his partner, shocking everyone.

Result: Randy Orton & Jeff Hardy def. Shelton Benjamin & The Miz

The Miz hit Hardy with his trademark corner drop kicks and was taken out before Jeff tagged in Randy. Shelton took a powerslam and the Miz got dumped on an announce table by the Viper before he landed a double Snake Eyes on the heel team.

We return to see Jeff in a submission from Miz. Hardy gets out of it but takes a DDT. Shelton is tagged in.
