As the World Superbike heads for the Czech Republic to race the ninth round of the season, all eyes are focused on the Italian Rider Max Biaggi of Aprilia Racing. Biaggi is leading the rider standings and the Italian brand is at the top of the manufacturer rankings as well.
The heat around Biaggi has everything to do with the fact that the Rome born rider has won 11 times at Brno in every category he has ever raced in. This is something unique and can be seen as a motorcycle racing domination.
Besides his many different victories in the Czech Republic, Biaggi is also currently leading the WSBK 2012 season with a point advantage of 48 points. He has almost nothing to fear when it comes to his rivals. Finally he has had three wins in the last four races, which also confirms his thundering domination this season.
Even though Max is familiar with the Brno track and statistics give him another win, the Aprilia rider is aware that he still needs to have a high concentration level during the race. “Arriving at Brno as points leader certainly adds pressure. This year, more than any other, we have battled and earned every result, against strong rivals and seasoned teams. The 11 wins I’ve taken here do not provide any certainties. Even if this is a track where we have always been strong we cannot delude ourselves. The improvements our adversaries have made are quite clear. We will have to give it our all and make no mistakes”.
One can certainly expect a lot from Biaggi this weekend at the Czech Republic race, as he has the nickname ‘Roman Emperor’ for good reason.
