Casey Stoner to test for Honda in Japan next month

Former Moto GP World Champion Casey Stoner will test for Honda in Japan next month, raising speculations about his return to Moto GP. Stoner will test at the Motegi circuit on 6 and 7 August.

Stoner won the Moto GP title in 2007 with Ducati and again in 2011 with Honda before leaving the sport to race in the second tier of Australian V8 cars.

“There are times I miss riding my RC213V, so, I’m really happy Honda asked me to do some testing,” Stoner said.

Stoner however insists that he does not regret his decision to leave Moto GP. He left the sport saying that he was unhappy with the direction the sport was going in to.
