GMS Racing on Wednesday, 9th January announced that Johnny Sauter and the organisation had parted ways. Veteran Sauter won the Truck series title in his inaugural season with the organization in 2016

Johnny Sauter fans are wondering where is Johnny going to go, and where is he going after 2018 season? Is he going to retire and be with the wife and his three daughters, or maybe race in part time in the Gander Truck Series. We are still wondering what next and who is replacing defending champion who won his truck title in 2016? Johnny been in GMS racing for three years for 2018 season. Last season the No.21 team did brought home 6 wins, 14 top 5s and 17 top 10s. He did dominate 2018 season, so did Noah Gragson, and Brett Moffitt who also needs a truck ride for 2019 season. His 22 start with GMS racing was in 2018 season where he won six tracks in 2018 season.

It has not been released yet who is replacing Johnny. It is before Daytona speed weeks. Few drivers who might need a ride in trucks or the Xfinity Series. A few good drivers who might be a good fit to ride ISM Connect 21 Chevy, Ryan Truex who lost his Xfinity ride after Justin Haley who is moving to the Xfinity Series for 2019 season. Brett Moffitt who still needs a truck ride, he did win his truck title in 2018 season. In 2018 season GMS racing who brought home 1 pole,11 wins,33 top fives,67 top 10s and 737 laps lead in the trucks and the Xfinity Series.
