Samantha Busch, wife of two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and 63-time race winner Kyle Busch, took to Instagram on Monday to share her "life-changing" stress relief experience.
In the video, Busch can be seen lying down on a mat with a list of ways she's lowered her cortisol displayed on the screen. Her caption reads:
"Cortisol healing isn’t just a fad, it’s been a life-changer for me. After a year of working on lowering my cortisol, I’ve seen real improvements in my anxiety, energy levels, and even hair loss."
On the screen, Busch lists ways she's been able to lower her cortisol, which includes tapping, using an acupressure mat, box breathing, taking a high-protein breakfast, reducing caffeine intake, low-intensity workouts, eating high-fat, healthy foods, and using blue light blockers.
Busch also wrote in the post:
"Getting my cortisol levels tested was the first step towards better health. With discipline and consistency, these changes are possible for anyone!"
Busch offered a helping hand to her followers in the post, too, enquiring if they had any questions regarding her experience. One person commented by asking for some "good, easy" high-protein breakfast ideas, who which she responded:
"avocado toast w eggs on top, Greek yogurt with protein powder nuts and fruit or granola, protein pancakes."
Another person commented asking if she thought her high cortisol levels had any correlation with her alopecia. She responded by saying:
"Between my functional dr and hair derm they think the high stress set off an an underlying issue and that my body dealt with it by losing my hair. Similar to if someone developed a big rash our bodies are always trying to tell us when something isn’t right or it’s overtaxed."
Kyle Busch finding momentum towards the end of the season
Despite not making the playoffs, Busch's husband has been quietly stringing together quality results as the season nears its end. After a series of poor results that put him below the playoff cutline, the 39-year-old has tallied four straight top-ten finishes.
It started with a fourth-place finish at Michigan, which Busch also collected a stage win in. Then at Daytona, Busch was leading on the final lap until he was passed by Harrison Burton for the win, and ultimately settled for second. At Darlington Speedway in the final race to secure a playoff spot, Busch again placed runner-up, this time to Chase Briscoe, and failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2012.
This past Sunday at Atlanta, Busch placed seventh as the only non-playoff driver to finish in the top 10. This season, the driver of the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet has accumulated five top-fives, ten top-tens, and one pole, but has yet to find a win.
