A few days ago, former NASCAR driver Wallace on X (formerly Twitter) talked about all the public citizens aiding the victims of Hurricane Helene instead of the army helicopters from Fort Bragg that could help the affected areas of the North Carolina mountains. However, the 61-year-old has now reported that government choppers have shown up to help in the vicinity of Asheville, North Carolina.

In a post on X, the veteran driver wrote:

"Just heard from my (family) in Asheville North Carolina on this Sunday morning that “government” helicopters started helping 8-9 days later and showed up yesterday. (Saturday) “Better late than never.”

According to reports, the U.S. Army North has deployed troops to assist in the relief efforts of the hurricane. The commanding general of ARNORTH in a statement said (via army.mil):

"ARNORTH is committed to providing critical support to North Carolina and our federal partners in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Our soldiers are assisting with response and recovery efforts, ensuring that communities receive the help they need during this challenging time."

Moreover, a veteran driver has come to aid the victims of one of the deadliest US hurricanes since 2000 in the relief efforts.

Kenny Wallace thanked fellow NASCAR driver for aiding with private helicopters

Among several members of the NASCAR community, veteran driver Greg Biffle with his rescue team is using private helicopters to provide air support in delivering supplies and rescuing the stranded individuals.

Appreciating a fellow NASCAR driver Biffle for his valiant efforts, NASCAR driver-turned-analyst Kenny Wallace expressed his gratitude in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He said:

"Greg Biffle is incredible. He's doing this on his own. He's got an incredible machine shop. This is a guy that is just awesome. Thank you Biff, for what you're doing. You're a badass. Ain't nobody better than you right now, and you landing that helicopter down in those woods just shows everybody that while you were such a great race car driver."

Here's a video posted by Biffle during his trip to Asheville, North Carolina with supply drops:

"Flying with some supply drops today and flew through this area of Asheville with unconfirmed propane or fuel leak everyone stay safe," Biffle wrote on X.

Not only Biffle, but teams like Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports are also helping in this devastating situation by providing their helicopters for the relief efforts. Moreover, Michael Jordan's 23XI Racing has donated a substantial amount to the NC disaster relief fund.
