Matt McCall, the former crew chief of Brad Keselowski at RFK Racing will join Spire Motorsports as its Director of Vehicle Performance in 2025.
RFK announced earlier this month that McCall will depart from the team after three years of working with Keselowski. 43-year-old McCall was a successful driver with 60 late-model wins in the early 2000s. He has had four wins and 134 top-10 finishes in over 11 years as a crew chief.
McCall previously worked as an engineer at Richard Childress Racing and crew chief for Jamie McMurray and Kurt Busch at Chip Ganassi Racing. He moved to RFK in 2021 and helped Keselowski with a win at Darlington and 17 top-five finishes over three seasons.
McCall, who has known co-owner Jeff Dickerson for a long time, is excited to join the team.
"I am really excited and grateful for this opportunity,” said McCall. “Spire Motorsports’ upward trajectory has been impressive and I look forward to becoming part of the success. I’ve had a long relationship with (Jeff) Dickerson and I’ve known him for close to 25 years...Knowing what’s being built here and what the future looks like is exciting," McCall said in a statement.
Dax Gerringer, the former engineer for Stewart-Haas Racing's No. 4 team will join McCall as Technical Director. Both McCall and Gerringer will collaborate with Competition Director Ryan Sparks.
"We had so much success together" - Brad Keselowski on new crew chief Jeremy Bullins
Co-owner Brad Keselowski will reunite with Jeremy Bullins as the No. 6 team's crew chief next year. Bullins worked with Keselowski at Team Penske and helped him win five Cup races and finish second in the final standings in 2020.
Bullins has 10 Cup wins and 21 Xfinity wins. He was previously Harrison Burton's crew chief at Wood Brothers Racing when the team won its 100th Cup race at Daytona this year.
"2025 is another season of change for myself and the 6 team. I'm excited to bring Jeremy Bullins back as the crew chief. We had so much success together, with five wins in the NASCAR Cup Series, nearly winning the championship in 2020, three owner's titles in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He and I have really clicked our entire career. I can't wait to see what we can do in 2025 and beyond," Keselowski said.
Meanwhile, Ryan Preece will join RFK as the third full-time driver for the team in 2025. Preece’s No. 60 car, sponsored by Kroger, will run under a charter leased from Rick Ware Racing.
