Ryan Blaney complained about a strange issue during the final race of the Cup Series season. The Team Penske driver stated on his team radio that he was suffering from "chattering" while running for the lead in the Championship race at Phoenix.

On Sunday, Phoenix Raceway hosted the final race (the Championship 4) where Blaney, his teammate Joey Logano, William Byron, and Tyler Reddick competed for the ultimate glory. The winner of the race, or the driver with the best position, was to take home the 2024 Cup Series championship.

During stage 3 of the race, Blaney mentioned that he was suffering from "chattering." The #12 driver used the word to allude to the technical difficulties related to the car.

Bubba Wallace's suspended spotter, Freddie Kraft, witnessed the ordeal and explained what chattering actually is. Here's what he said in the Dirty Mo Media video on X:

"Tires chattering is like when you when the front, when you're tight the front tire chatter. When you're free, the rear tire chatter or like. Now if you said everything's chattering it's kind of like a four wheel slide where you're just. Did you hear like you ever drove a street car? You turn them. That's that's your tire generator. Okay, so that's that's what you feeling."

Ryan Blaney claimed the Stage 2 victory and led 12 laps in the ultimate race of the season. However, his brilliant efforts were undone by his Penske teammate Logano.

Sunday's race at Phoenix saw Joey Logano claim the race victory and eventually the 2024 Cup Series Championship. Logano held off his teammate Ryan Blaney by one-third of a second and Hendrick Motorsports' William Byron in the final lap. This was the #22 driver's third Cup Series win after he won the first two titles in 2018 and 2022. Logano stormed into the NASCAR playoffs, won multiple races, and was the first driver to secure his place in Championship 4.

Following the victory, Logano credited his team for the win, as he called them the "best" in the competition. With this, he took his Cup Series win tally to four this season. The winner of the Cup Series said,

"I love the playoffs. What a race. What a Team Penske battle there at the end. This is special. What a team to fight through the day. I got the best team. We are well rounded and can make things happen when it matters."

The Phoenix Raceway race was a stronghold for Team Penske, as their drivers claimed all three stage wins, finished 1-2 in the race and clinched the owner's championship.
