Chase Elliott’s bounceback year continues as the HMS star comes on the brink of setting a new personal best record

Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott snapped his 42-race winless streak at Texas Motor Speedway this year and thus bounced back from a rather fruitless 2023 season. With that, the former Cup Series champion is on the verge of setting a new personal-best record.

Chase Elliott won the Cup Series Championship and the All-Star race in 2020, which was just his fifth full season driving in the Cup Series. Besides that, he held the title of the Most Popular Driver consecutively from 2018 to 2021.

Elliott's win at Texas Motor Speedway was his 19th victory in the Cup arena and the 306th for his team. By winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship in 2014, he also became the first rookie to win a championship on a national level.

According to a recent post by Trey Ryan, an industry expert known for his statistics, Chase Elliott currently leads the field with the most number of races without a DNF. The post, uploaded on X, read:

"Races since last DNF. Chase Elliott’s 26 races without a DNF is tied for the longest run in his career."

Ryan further clarified that this does not include the non-points paying, All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Elliott's placings in the last four races before the All-Star weekend were 12th, 3rd, 5th and 15th. Today, he stands 4th in the Cup Series standings, just above his teammate William Byron, with 437 points to his credit.

Chase Elliott excited about his mid-week Super Late Model attempt

Chase Elliott will drive the number 9 Super Late Model Chevrolet for Fr8 Racing in the Tar Heel 250 on May 23rd. The 250-lap event is jointly sanctioned by the ASA STARS National Tour and the ASA Southern Super Series.

Elliott will race against the reigning champion of the event, Gio Ruggiero, and fellow NASCAR driver, Josh Berry, besides some of the best Super Late Model drivers from Canada and 11 states in the USA.

Thrilled about the upcoming opportunity, Elliott posted,

"Excited to get back in the @fr8_racing super late model car on Thursday May 23rd at Hickory Motor Speedway. Y’all come check it out if you’re around!👊🏼"

Tickets for the event are available on myracepass.com. The fans, unable to make it to the grandstands at Hickory Motor Speedway, can watch Elliott live on TrackTv.com.

The hauler parking and practice sessions will commence on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. E.T. The schedule for Thursday is jam-packed with several events including the Go Fas Pole Qualifying, the Legend National Qualifier, and of course, the Tar Heel 250. NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee and former ASA National Tour Champion Rusty Wallace will serve as the Grand Marshal for the event.
