NASCAR returned to the streets of Chicago for the second time after its inaugural race last year. Heavy rains also impacted the 2023 Cup race in the Windy City, and the race happened in a shortened format as a result.

According to RaceWeather, the scattered showers are inclining towards the east of Chicago. The heavy storms, which had a high possibility of impacting the North, are moving toward the lines of the Chicago circuit.

"1:20 CDT Update - Storms to the North are pushing an outflow boundary towards the track. Will see some initiation along the boundary, but can’t say yet if it will impact the track. Boundary ETA is roughly 30 minutes."

However, NASCAR hasn't officially updated regarding any delay from the scheduled time. But the rain showers could effectively dampen the tracks, even though there's less possibility of heavy storms affecting the event.
