The former 2012 Super Bowl Champion Will Blackmon's interest in starting a career in the wine industry began in 2008 when Charles Woodson introduced him to the business. He then completed Level Two certification with the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) under master sommeliers Michael Jordan and Josh Orr.

Blackmon then launched his company, The Wine MVP, operating as a wine concierge service in 2019. He focuses on educating his audience about wine to make it more accessible and enjoyable for the audience. As he became a prominent figure in the wine industry, a fan asked him to collaborate with Danica Patrick for a podcast.

Will Blackmon asked his fans for his next guest on his podcast, 'Wine with Will,' and held a Q&A session on his Instagram. During the session, a fan suggested that the former NFL Super Champ should invite former NASCAR driver Patrick, and Blackmon replied by tagging her.
