Daniel Hemric is moving back to the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in 2025 to pilot the #19 Chevrolet for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. The 33-year-old will compete full-time and be gunning for the 2025 Truck Series title.

With this move, the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion has an opportunity to put himself in elite company. Hemric could join the likes of some of NASCAR's best by becoming a champion in two of NASCAR's three national touring series. Toby Christie, editor-in-chief of Racing America on Sports Illustrated, wrote about this potential achievement on X (formerly Twitter):

"Daniel Hemric has a legitimate shot at becoming a champion in two of #NASCAR's three National Series as he will pilot the No. 19 Chevrolet Silverado for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2025."

Cup Series champions such as Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott are two drivers who have reached this feat by winning titles in both the Cup and the Xfinity Series levels. Brad Keselowski, Martin Truex Jr., Kevin Harvick, and Bobby Labonte are also on the list that have both a Cup and Xfinity championship to their names.

While Hemric could add his name to that category with a Truck championship in 2025, he'd join Johnny Benson Jr., Greg Biffle, and Austin Dillon as the only drivers to have won an Xfinity and Truck championship.

Hemric won the 2021 Xfinity crown piloting the #18 Joe Gibbs Racing car in a photo finish with Austin Cindric in the season finale race at Phoenix Raceway. In a stunning finish, it was the North Carolina native's first and only career race win in any of the top three premier NASCAR circuits.

Daniel Hemric's up-and-down journey through the NASCAR ranks

Daniel Hemric burst onto the full-time NASCAR scene in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series in 2015, piloting the #14 truck for NTS Motorsports. He registered 13 top-10s and four top-fives.

The next year, Hemric was behind the wheel of the #19 truck owned by Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski. Hemric posted 11 top-fives but failed to win a race. In 2017, Hemric moved up to the Xfinity Series to pilot the #21 Richard Childress Racing car.

Despite making it to the Championship 4 race in both 2017 and 2018 with RCR, Hemric failed to win a race and the championship in either season. In 2019, Hemric was bumped up to the Cup Series to drive the RCR #8 car, but moved back down the following year after only tallying a top-five and two top-10s.

Hemric ran part-time in the Xfinity Series in 2020 until moving back to full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2021, the year he won the championship. Most recently, Hemric drove the #31 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet in the Cup Series and posted four top-10s in 2024.
