Two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is having the toughest season of his career, and his no-win luck followed him to his much-anticipated debut at the USAC National Midget Series at Bakersfield Speedway California on November 27, 2024. At first, Heat Race #2 got delayed due to unexpected rain, and then he ended the race with a DNF.
Busch drove the Lucas Oil and FloRacing #51 car for the event and dominated the track with his exceptional performance, but in the final laps, he lost the power of his car while leading the final laps, losing his lead and bringing out a caution flag on the track. Kenny Wallace shared a post about the unexpected DNF and wrote:
"Kyle Busch had his heat race WON. Until the something broke. He was going good on @FloRacing"
NASCAR fans expressed their thoughts on Busch's misfortune in replies. One summed up his season:
"Fits his year."
"Crap balls. No wins 2024," another wrote.
"He was checked out, Herm! The bad luck Kyle Busch’s had in 2024 just continues to plague him," a third fan commented.
"His rough 2024 season continues. He had that one by a large margin," yet another wrote.
"He sure did! That sucked! Felt so bad for him," one said.
Busch's 2024 Cup Series season has been a concerning year. He remained winless throughout the season.
Kyle Busch witnessed the worst season of his career
Richard Childress Racing's Kyle Busch witnessed the toughest year of his career in 2024 with no wins in 36 races. He broke his streak of securing at least a win each season since his debut in the Cup Series under Joe Gibbs Racing in 2005.
Along with the unfortunate season, the #8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver missed the playoffs this season for the first time since 2012. His last win came at the Enjooy Illinois 300 at the World Wide Technology Raceway on June 4, 2023. Since then, he has been close to a victory but hasn't won. In the 2024 season, he finished runner-up at Darlington Raceway and Daytona International Speedway but couldn't cross the finish line first.
Even in his final shot at the Championship Four race at Phoenix Raceway on November 10, 2024, Busch faced challenges since the beginning of the race. He qualified for the race in P25 and then crashed with Harrison Burton on lap 73, ending the race in P21. He ended the 2024 season in P21 with zero wins, 10 top-10, and five top-five finishes, followed by one pole position.
