Actor-turned NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz shared a "travel nightmare" with his family, getting to Phoenix for the final Truck Series race of the son. He claimed taking over 5 flights instead of a scheduled 5-hour flight.
Muniz also mentioned that he had to sleep overnight on the floor in Dallas with his family, including his toddler. He has been racing on a part-time schedule this season in the Truck Series and as his full-time contract for the 2025 season is signed, he was heading for the season's final race in Phoenix when he had to face the difficult circumstances.
"I'm living a true travel nightmare with my family right now. Like.... You can't make this up," the 38-year-old wrote on social media.
"28 hours after initially taking off of a scheduled 5 hour travel time... My family and I just landed in Phoenix. 5 flights, and a night sleeping on the floor in Dallas airport with a three year old will test your patience. Honestly, I realized I don't have any. Get me in my bed."
Frankie Muniz debuted in the NASCAR Xfinity and the Truck Series this season with Joey Gase Motorsports and Reaume Brothers Racing with both teams giving him a part-time contract. Earlier last month the latter signed him up full-time for the 2025 season in the Truck Series.
Frankie Muniz to drive full-time in the NASCAR Truck Series for Reaume Brothers Racing
Frankie Muniz will be a full-time driver for NASCAR Truck Series team Reaume Brothers Racing.
The team signed him to drive the #33 Ford for the 2025 season, preplacing Lawless Alan, whose performance was seemingly sub-par in the 2024 season.
Meanwhile, Frankie Muniz's performance in the ARCA Menards series was promising.
"I’m incredibly excited to join Reaume Brothers Racing full-time in 2025," Muniz said. "My longstanding relationship with Ford has been a game changer, and I am thrilled to help facilitate additional support allowing us to tap into their exceptional technical and engineering resources. I’m confident that this synergy will elevate Reaume Brothers Racing and help us achieve great things together. I can’t wait to get started."
Known for his role as Malcolm in the television series called Malcolm in The Middle, Muniz added racing to his portfolio rather recently. Although he did take part in the Atlantic Championship between 2007 and 2009, his stock series stint started in 2023 with Rette Jones Racing offering him a seat in the ARCA Menards Series. He remained rather competitive and finished fourth highest on points.
In the 2024 season, Frankie Muniz took part in two Xfinity races, finishing 33 and 30 (Daytona and Phoenix) before failing to qualify in Portland. He also took part in three Truck Series races, however, was out of the top 30 in two of them.
