Bubba Wallace drives the #23 Toyota for 23XI Racing and competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Over his eight-year career, Wallace has earned eight race victories across NASCAR's top three divisions, with two wins in the Cup Series. Despite facing early-season struggles, he found his rhythm later in the season with strong performances. Unfortunately, Wallace's efforts fell short of qualifying for the 2024 playoffs.

The NASCAR Cup Series playoff format runs 10 races divided into 4 rounds. The first three rounds have three races that decide 4 drivers to be eliminated from each round. The final round, also called the Championship race, decides the winner from one of the final four drivers that remain in the playoffs.

Responding to a question concerning the current format posted by Couch Racer on X (formerly Twitter), Bubba Wallace's spotter Brett Griffin wrote:

"Last pit stop. Last restart. Last “run” of the year. No. Has to be 3 races to not feel like it currently feels."

Griffin believed that there should be at least three races in the Championship 4 round, instead of one final race. However, there have been no hints by NASCAR about making any changes to the format of the Cup Series.

Meanwhile, Bubba Wallace secured a P12 finish in the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. His 23XI teammate Tyler Reddick was involved in a scary car flip during stage 2 of the race, essentially leading to a P35 finish for the regular season champion.

"Third most important race": Bubba Wallace's spotter claims Las Vegas opener is superior to highly-coveted crown jewel battles

Ahead of the South Point 400, Bubba Wallace's spotter Brett Griffin had labeled the playoff race at Las Vegas as one of the most important events on the NASCAR calendar.

In a recent episode of Dirty Mo Media's Door Bumper Clear podcast, Griffin prioritized Las Vegas over several prestigious crown jewel events, outlining the importance of when the race is scheduled, instead of where. He said:

"This race this weekend, we've said it on here before is maybe the third most important race of the season. Daytona 500 is always going to be the most important to me, the championship race, and then Vegas because like you said, if you win Vegas, you can spend the next three weeks, simming, doing everything you can for Phoenix versus having to worry about any other race in this round," he said.

Team Penske's Joey Logano secured his second playoff win at Las Vegas and has secured his place in the Championship 4.
