Hendrick Motorsports driver Chase Elliott recently revealed that he is focused on winning more races ahead of the 2024 NASCAR Playoffs. He is currently locked in the top 16 courtesy of his win in Texas earlier this season.
The #9 Chevrolet driver has been a consistent contender this season. With one victory and ten additional top-ten finishes, Elliott is securely positioned to qualify for the playoffs. Nevertheless, he aims to elevate his performance in the remaining races of the year.
When questioned by veteran NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass about his playoff aspirations, Elliott emphasized the importance of securing additional victories as his primary objective.
"Just win, being in contention to win," Elliot said. "Winning would be great, but if you can't win, being in contention to win is a very close second to just overall performance and where I feel like we need to be and should be and can be."
Elliott made his full-time Cup Series debut in 2016, winning the championship in 2020. Following that season, his teammate Kyle Larson claimed the title in his first year with Hendrick Motorsports. Since Larson joined the team in 2021, he has quickly established himself as a dominant force. Currently leading the playoff standings with four victories, Larson's impact on the team has been undeniable.

Both the #5 and #9 Chevys have been competitive this season and look in good form ahead of the final races of the 2024 Regular Season. Given their strong track presence and racing prowess, these teammates are likely to engage in some thrilling battles during the playoffs.
Reacting to the same, a reporter questioned Chase Elliott about the team dynamic. The reporter asked if the two crews maintain any performance secrets to potentially favor one driver over the other. Elliott dismissed the notion, explaining that the team operates under a system. He acknowledged past on-track battles between the teammates but emphasized that the team's approach remains unchanged.
"No, we have a system," Elliott said (at 2:25). "Truthfully, we do. And we do that system every week. That has never changed. Kyle and I raced for a couple of championships against each other, if I'm not mistaken, '21 and '22. We've kind of been in that position. It's not really changed."
