Kyle Busch is set to make his Xfinity return at Charlotte

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is ready to make his first start of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season with Richard Childress Racing this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

On Monday (May 20), RCR announced that Busch will drive the #33 Chevrolet Camaro in Saturday’s Xfinity race at Charlotte, with co-primary sponsorship from Rebel Bourbon and BetMGM. It will be Busch’s first in Xfinity with RCR, joining teammate Austin Hill and Jesse Love.

After RCR announced Kyle Busch’s participation in the Charlotte Xfinity race on their official X, fans took to social media platforms to voice their opinions. There were mostly positive reactions from the fans.

Several fans are happy with Busch’s return to NASCAR’s second-tier series, with some hoping for a faster #33 Xfinity car than his #8 Cup car, and others are excited to see him in the Xfinity Series. One fan wrote:

“I think it’s going to be fun” - Kyle Busch on his Xfinity return

The former Cup champion is grateful to RCR for giving him the opportunity to compete in the Xfinity Series again and is looking forward to making it count.

In an announcement video, Busch said:

“I’m definitely looking forward to driving a [Richard Childress Racing] Xfinity Series car. I think it’s going to be fun. I’m grateful to get the opportunity from Richard [Childress] and everybody at the Xfinity shop.”

Last year, while competing for Kaulig Racing, Busch made four starts and recorded a top-five finish.

Kyle Busch is the winningest driver in Xfinity Series history. He holds 102 wins, 70 poles, 226 top-5s, and 266 top-10 results in the 366 starts in the series. His last victory in the series came at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2021.

Busch will look to score a record-extending 103rd win in NASCAR’s second-tier series at Charlotte on Saturday (May 25).
