Josh Berry has recently touched upon his time at Stewart-Haas Racing and his upcoming journey with Wood Brothers Racing in the future. The #4 driver, in his latest interview, revealed that the last couple of years have been a "whirlwind" for him, and now, he does not know what to expect anymore in life and in NASCAR.
Following Tony Stewart's decision to dismantle Stewart-Haas Racing, Berry temporarily lost his Cup Series seat until Wood Brothers Racing came to his rescue. In doing so, the WBR handed Harrison Burton's #21 drive to Berry from next season onwards.
Berry sat down in front of the media ahead of the Atlanta clash where he talked about his Quaker State 400 Available At Walmart preparation, his connection with Briscoe and Burton, and many more. In one of his responses, Josh Berry spoke about how he keeps his nerve amid tumultuous times in NASCAR.
“I don’t know," Berry said. "To be honest, the last couple of years have been a whirlwind, and I think even sitting here today I never would have thought I would be in this situation and this would all happen like it has even this year. I don’t even know if I really know what to expect anymore."
He further added:
"Obviously, I’m proud of the job we did this year amidst everything going on. To have landed the opportunity with the Wood Brothers and the 21 car is something I’m excited for. That’s a great group with a great legacy in the sport. There’s a ton of backing from Ford and Team Penske and everything that I think a group and being a part of that program is really gonna help me grow," he further added.
Even though he has a secure future in 2025, his end of 2024 isn't going as planned. Berry failed to qualify for the playoffs this season, whereas both his teammate at SHR Chase Briscoe, and the driver he would replace at Wood Brothers Racing, Harrison Burton, have qualified.
Briscoe won the final regular season race, the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington, and Burton claimed the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. Josh Berry congratulated both drivers and wished them luck ahead of their playoffs, starting from Atlanta.
Josh Berry opened up about his relationship with Harrison Burton

Josh Berry is all set to take over Harrison Burton's #21 drive at Wood Brothers Racing next season. However, that did not make his relationship with Burton a tense one, Berry confirmed. Reiterating this, the SHR driver stated that they are all "professionals."
"Obviously, I reached out to all of those guys after the Daytona win and congratulated them, but we’re all professionals. We’ve all been doing this stuff a long time and there’s no awkwardness or hard feelings there," Berry said.
Josh Berry concluded his NASCAR regular season outing with 460 points after 26 races. He finished in 23rd position and claimed two Top 5s, four Top 10s, and experienced eight DNFs, the most by a driver this season.
