Kelley Earnhardt once left in disbelief after knowing the quirky habits of her father, Dale Earnhardt, that were mentioned in one of his bi-monthly articles back in the day. Known for the intense drive and distinct personality, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt often engaged in routines or behaviors that might seem unusual to others.
Last year, during one of the episodes of “The Dale Jr. Download,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller shared a lighthearted moment, calling out their dad's one of the morning routines, which the seven-time NASCAR champion admitted in his article.
That morning of Kelley Earnhardt’s dad was quite exceptional. After winning the Bristol race, Dale Sr. started his next morning with a two-mile run, then proceeded to bike for another mile, followed by an hour at the tennis court practicing his serve. The first two things didn’t elicit much of a reaction from Kelley Earnhardt, but the tennis activity made her laugh.
Bursting into laughter, Kelley said:
“Tennis court? Where'd he go for that one at? A tennis court practicing his serve. I never knew that.”
“I gotta recover. Tennis court. I never knew. I can't even picture it. Are we in jorts in the tennis court? Like, where are we?” Kelley said in disbelief.
However, it was a sweet moment between Kelley and his brother Dale Jr. as they reminisced about their father.
Dale Sr. was one of the most iconic and influential figures in NASCAR history. The Intimidator was known for his aggressive driving style, fearless approach, and larger-than-life persona; he left a profound legacy in the sport.
Over his glorious career, he won seven NASCAR Cup championships and 97 career wins in NASCAR. He was inducted into the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010.

Kelley Earnhardt, the co-owner of JR Motorsports, alongside his brother Dale Jr., praised their driver, Justin Allgaier, for clinching the 2024 Xfinity Series title. Allgaier finished P2 in the title-deciding race at Phoenix Raceway ahead of the other three other title contenders, Austin Hill, AJ Allmendinger, and Cole Custer.
Congratulating Allgaier, Kelley said on Instagram:
“He did it! CHAMP!”
JR Motorsports now has a total of four Xfinity titles; the previous wins came with Chase Elliott in 2014, William Byron in 2017, and Tyler Reddick in 2018.
Justin Allgaier and JR Motorsports will return in the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season to defend their title.
