Denny Hamlin's prodigy has secured two career victories in the NASCAR Cup Series for 23XI Racing. But before he was turning heads as the driver of the #23 Camry for 23XI Racing, Wallace cut his teeth racing Legend Cars and Bandoleros at the Summer Shootout. During his formative years, he racked up 13 wins in various divisions, including the U.S. Legends Pro Division, VP Racing Fuels Semi-Pro, and Bandolero Bandits Division, all in front of his hometown fans.

Now, after a five-year break, he's returned to the Cook Out Summer Shootout in June. This time, he's capturing the action from his perspective and plans to share it on YouTube. Hinting at the same, Bubba Wallace wrote on X:

"I may or may not have gotten dumped on night one💀. New legend car VLOG series out tomorrow on YouTube at 3pm ET. (you read that right😏) Link in bio to subscribe 👊🏾"

The last time he posted a YouTube video was back in August 2022, titled "Bubba Wallace And Denny Hamlin Become Olympians For The Day." So far, Wallace has uploaded 58 videos on his channel and has gathered 7.8k subscribers.

Wallace is in the ranks of many NASCAR drivers, such as Joey Logano, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Chase Elliott, who started their careers at the summer racing spectacle.

Bubba Wallace hit the track at the Summer Shootout as recently as 2019, then took a breather before diving back into what marks a decade of grassroots racing. He made his comeback to the famed quarter-mile during the season-opening doubleheader in June and has his sights set on competing in all 10 events this summer.

Bubba Wallace's anticipated strategy for the final 4 races

The home stretch is a week away with the final four races, and Bubba Wallace is gunning for a spot in the playoff circle. Last year marked the first time Wallace made the playoffs in his Cup racing career, albeit on points.

However, the #23 started his 2024 season strong with two top-5 finishes in the first pair of races. But since then, his momentum has slowed, managing top-5s only at Martinsville and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Following the race at Nashville Superspeedway, Bubba Wallace found himself the first driver out of playoff contention, trailing by a hefty 51 points.

With just four races left in the 2024 NASCAR regular season, the race for the playoffs is heating up, with drivers scrambling to secure one of the final 16 spots. Wallace's track record shows average finishes of 21.8 at Richmond, 18.5 at Michigan, 12.4 at Daytona, and 18.5 at Darlington.

Richmond Raceway, in particular, has been a tough nut for Wallace to crack, with efforts to finish in the top five falling short. In his last two outings at Richmond, he's managed to collect over a dozen stage points but still finished outside the top 10 both times.

The chase for the last few playoff spots will be based on points, particularly if the leaderboard stays free of new winners. For Bubba Wallace, this could be a make-or-break stretch, though a new winner could shake up the entire playoff picture.
